Definitive Audiophile pressings

Posting this in here because there's a lot of great pressings available in this scratch and dent section.

You know it is going to sound great.

There is much better Miles. Mobley was a stop-gap until Shorter was free, and was not the best foil for Miles. Nice performances of the Miles standard repertoire of the day, but IMO the same repertoire with Coltrane (the recent-ish Sony vinyl) is about 10 times explosive in comparison.
I have this release it does sound great and I actually really like Miles tone and attack in the session. The digital set is more complete and it is a great set. While I am very happy to own in on vinyl, a good path might be to listen to a good digital and make a call. In terms of pressing, quality, sound — this is top quality

restock: anybody have this one?
Thanks for posting this! These records are
a big deal to me and I’ve read that the Impex does a good job recreating the original 6-eyes which sound great but are hard to find in good condition.

lots of stupid people just repeat incorrect things they hear. Vinyls is yet another one. But I am done correcting; I may give a glare or chuckle under my breath.
SOF Forces
MANPADS system
CAC card

I hear these in my orbit all the time. I don't know if id call any of them stupid but I may be wary of them handling my vinyls collection.

the ECM reissue series titles have started popping up for preorder at the usual suspects. Looking like $30 at local shops and $25 at big box stores like Target on preorder. Gnu High and Saudades are up for preorder now.

Like...who cares? Live and let live. Too much anger in the world already without worrying about trivialities like 'vinyls'.
Both can be true though. We can acknowledge that one is correct and one is incorrect while not getting bent out of shape or attacking people who either don’t know or don’t care. I for one appreciate when someone points out that I am saying something incorrectly or mispronouncing something; that’s how I learn. I don’t appreciate someone attacking me or calling me an idiot for not knowing something.

This is my take also.

you can say “deers” all you want, and call me old and grumpy (I probably am), but deer is still the correct form of the word.

I would argue that that is not how language works. If it did, language would never evolve. We would never have new words.

Language being correct vs incorrect has a deep history of white supremacy culture. Just something to think about.

Oh I agree to an extent. I love the evolution of language and linguistics. The etymology of words is fascinating. I don’t think people should be punished or ridiculed for saying the wrong thing but I also think there is value in being able to communicate succinctly and being understood. Being redundant or using the wrong pluralism isn’t gonna effect people’s understanding of what’s being communicated but it is also not communicating as efficiently as someone could. Ultimately, the issue big issue with Vinyl/Vinyls is is more to do with the Gatekeeping nature of it all.

Also, if anyone here is interested in words I recommend checking out the books by Etymologist, Mark Forsyth, the history of words is fun and interesting.
