I see KG. I buy.Ah! That’s pretty slick. I didn’t realize they offered that as an option. Very cool.
It’s the Kevin Gray remaster from this year. Is anything that man works on ever less than stellar!? RIP JP

Only thing on there I'd care for would be the record dividers. I mean, I can use some shelving but it is so space specific. But yeah, any shelf would get used. The 11 Best Vinyl & Record Player Accessories for Every Turntable Setup

thoughts on their gift choices, specifically the furniture, cork slipmats (i wondered about going back to cork or going with cork and rubber), and specific record weight
The Wharfdales have bi-wiring available (which I probably won't mess with) but does it matter if I hook the speaker cables up to the HF or LF ports? Or is it worth upgrading the metal plate/jumpers?
As long as they have the jumpers (metal, tab like things under the speaker posts) in place, you should be ok with either. Probably want to hook both speakers up the same way, whichever (HF or LF) you choose. The Wharfdales have bi-wiring available (which I probably won't mess with) but does it matter if I hook the speaker cables up to the HF or LF ports?
That's what I figured! Thanks! I had read some things about people saying you should upgrade that plate but I also know there's a lot of snake oil out there!Nope there should be jumpers in place. It’s often a piece of copper behind the screw terminals. This carries the signal across so it doesn’t matter at all. You’d have to take that off if you ever bi-wire.
PicsMD comes through again with the "open box" deals. These Wharfdales look brand new. Looking forward to burning them in!

Well, I agree, but I think the more level headed suggestions have been to replace the "cheap" piece of metal with a actual piece of decent or like speaker wire with banana plugs or spades...........nothing expensive. That sounds like utter nonsense. Upgrading cables to bi wire would surely be a better use of the money lol!

Mmmmmm.....thinking that is a prime example of frayed speaker floss.Well yes, I would say we're talking about an adequate piece of speaker wire, not this, lol

I have Zu Libtec cables now with banana plugs going from my receiver to the speakers. I don't know that I would get a sizeable upgrade from swapping that plate out for bi-wire (or be able to notice the difference with my ears) but was mostly curious since I tend to read too much and see too many opinions and get confused!Well, I agree, but I think the more level headed suggestions have been to replace the "cheap" piece of metal with a actual piece of decent or like speaker wire with banana plugs or spades...........nothing expensive.

Here is one of the speakers. My desk was too messy to take a pic of the whole setup haha. Funny enough, my fiancee walked in when I was setting them up and goes "Wharfedales! Nice!" She knows nothing about audio gear but her parents apparently have some vintage Wharfedales at home!

So after reading some shoot-offs between the Pioneer and the Technic tables, I'm going with Pioneer. If only because it seems paying the extra money is for the Technics name for the most part (slight parts differences aside). Is anyone aware of build changes with the Pioneer from 2015 to 2020? Since the Pioneer also has a phono output I'll be able to keep it hooked up to my current receiver in the mean time. What other parts should I be looking for?
Currently I have a Ortofon 2M Blue, Audioengine P4's and a Onkyo TX-8255 receiver with blue jeans cables running everything. Open to all options and opinions now that I decided on a turntable.
Correct on the built in phono, the PLX does not have one, the Onkyo does, so that can do for now, or forever, completely up to you. I currently have the Grado Gold v3 running on mine in tandem with the Grado mono, but have mentioned wanting to give the Ort a try at some point. The plx1000 does not have an inbuilt phono stage. You’ll either need an amplifier with a phono input or a separate phono stage.
Your Ortofon is transferable but if you like you can try a Grado Gold3. I know @Ethos99 is running one on it with, last I heard, very positive impressions. Actually @AnthonyI is that what you have on yours too?
