audiolab 6000a and CDT 😁 Both products are going up in price as of February! The 6000A will go up from $1399 to $1499 and the CDT from $799 to $849. I got the integrated for $1250 and the CD transport for $699. 😀

I have all the pieces now but I've yet to set it up.
Damn. Glad I got that Audiolab when I did then! Assuming those are CAD but I paid about half that for the 6000A!

Congrats! I hope you enjoy!

The audiolab cdt to match? Nice! Did you manage to trade in your marantz? Have you heard them to compare because they seem to be in the same ballpark?
No I still have the Marantz for now but selling it won't be a problem as it's in mint condition. They are slightly different in sound. The Marantz pm8006 has a warmer musical sound whereas the audiolab 6000A is more neutral sounding but with sweet highs and deep controlled bass, at least from what I can remember when I auditioned it last year.

Nice, congrats! Too bad about the price increases — I'm looking at the CDT to match as well but I'm not ready to pull the trigger yet, haha.

At the +3K without hitting the stratosphere, these have always caught my eye..........
I’m very late to this party, but above the Ultradeck, I’d be going VPI 100% with the current market offerings. Now if Mofi created a table above the UD, I’d give it a very close look. There are other interesting tables at that price point. Linn and 1200G would be others that catch my eye. But VPIs have impressed me every time I’ve heard/seen them, and I’m just very sold on the company’s whole philosophy and how they do business.

Not saying this to at all diminish the MoFi decks in any way, they are fabulous, but when I recently A/B’d my lowest end VPI to the highest end MoFi, it was clear that my ears didn’t deceive me, VPI tables have a distinct voice that for me is the sound in my head when I think of what I want the medium to do. Gives me the goosebumps.

Semi-related, also recently had the opportunity to step up to a used Prime Scout with a 3D printed arm for a very reasonable price, and the deal ended up falling through. Sad face.

I would as well 💯

TFW someone makes a low ball offer on your used - liked new Marantz pm8006 😆😅🤣😂
A low ball offer, on a popular item, which has been listed less than 24 hours. I like it when they add a sob story about how much they want it but this is the most they can do. You'll never know unless you ask, I suppose.

If I had a little gumption I would sell more stuff by auction, because the corollary to the absurd lowball is that once they've made a bid, people will often pay much more than necessary to win an auction. But, back in the early oughts I auctioned a Pink Floyd concert bootleg LP and the winning bid was $1.25, so I've been wary of selling by auction ever since.

Exactly! If my asking price is $1300 and the listing was posted less than 24 hrs ago, don't ask if I'll take $600 FFS! 🙄
