Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

Yeah I mean those VP1 Prime 21s are already expensive as it is at $6,000 CAD! Not to include a dust cover is a major blunder imho.

Yes and no. I’d rather one personally but it seems to be a feature of expensive high end tables that deviate from the rectangular, so can’t have a hinged one, to not include it. It seems odd to me to scrimp on a €100 piece for a table of that price but it also seems to be the done thing 🤷🏻

Honestly though coming into the €6,000 category I’d be looking at SME tables tbh.

I wish they would, too. They just don’t make them at all, period, for any model. I ended up getting an aftermarket one for my Cliffwood that’s great. Really makes it quite a commanding piece up on the furniture with the dust cover, goes around the entirety of the deck.

The guy who made the box I have my pro-ject in also makes plinths with a hinged dust cover attached. I’d probably have him make me something like that if I had such a table.

I love the idea of getting a VPI and it's probably the direction I'd go when I upgrade but I just do not really dig the look of them. I need them to keep manufacturing the classic, the futuristic design of the Prime is very cool but it just clashes with everything in my house. It would stick out like a sore thumb.

I don't mind the look tbh but I understand what you're saying and how that would clash with your mid-century decor.

<------------ Loves his UltraDeck

I’ve no doubt it sounds magnificent, looks just aren’t my bag 🤷🏻

Errrr, just maybe don’t look at the price tag…

I agree, one of the big reasons why I haven’t done something stupid and dropped some big bills on one. The Cliffwood looks pretty unassuming up there, it’s a nice piece. The older Scouts are pretty low key as well.

Tell me you don't have children without telling me.
