Not looking for a sound improvement, just with all the recent electric issues we've been having from summer storms and rolling blackouts I thought it would be good insurance.this is the one I have. i found a used/like new on ebay for $100 so might be worth looking at ebay!
I can't say it seems to affect the sound quality at all, but is good piece of mind and seems to work well otherwise.
this'll do the trick then! ebay seems to have lots of used/like-new/open box for $100Not looking for a sound improvement, just with all the recent electric issues we've been having from summer storms and rolling blackouts I thought it would be good insurance.
Curious about warranty since it seems Panamax will only honor it through "authorized" sellers...this'll do the trick then! ebay seems to have lots of used/like-new/open box for $100
that's a good point. worth the extra money if you're worried about that!Curious about warranty since it seems Panamax will only honor it through "authorized" sellers...
Yeah, I was reading through the Amazon 1-star reviews and the majority of them had to do with warranty issues after purchasing through Amazon.that's a good point. worth the extra money if you're worried about that!
I have a SurgeX that I got on eBay several years ago to protect most of my equipment; it serves that role well. I don't connect my power amp to it though, because it limits current in-rush which my amp needs for dynamic response. The amp sounds really closed-in on the SurgeX; it says plugged into the wall socket. Not looking for a sound improvement, just with all the recent electric issues we've been having from summer storms and rolling blackouts I thought it would be good insurance.
I also have Surgex, although I do have my AVR plugged into it. I suspect it doesn't need that same in rush as a power amp.I have a SurgeX that I got on eBay several years ago to protect most of my equipment; it serves that role well. Calling @HiFi Guy in seeing he's in Florida with storms. He might be busy for a bit though with that new TechnicsNot looking for a sound improvement, just with all the recent electric issues we've been having from summer storms and rolling blackouts I thought it would be good insurance.
BURRNNNNNN IT!Just to let everyone know, new stylus in, same issue. Definitely the press, as all my other alignment and setup is taken care of. @Mather you were totally right about that Maggot Brain lol
Thanks everyone for your quick help and quelling of my fears! Super thankful for y’all
Looks like it should be fine, based on staring very hard at the specifications.Hey guys, OG ART9, not the newer ones... is the compliance okay with the Rega Aria stage and the Pro Ject 2Xperience?

Yes I think the ART9 XI is better in terms of gain for my stage. I think, from what I recall. Could be wrong thoughIt should be fine with the phono, although the gain is a bit higher than where I’d prefer it. Dunno about the tonearm, you’ll need the mad men with their maths and their calculators for that.

From what I can see the Aria has two gain settings for MC, 69.3 and 63.5?Their actually both around .5mV. It’ll be totally fine but if it had adjustable I’d probably be aiming nearer 60dB than the almost 70dB it’s set at for most MC around the .4/.5mV range. I’m sure it will sound just fine though, just might need to reign in the volume a little.
