Everything Video Games!

I tried to do that on my last attempt last night, but was an idiot and stayed locked on, only to get stuck on the wall. Decided I was too tired to be effective so I went to bed.

Quick question, are there any non-boss enemies that die permanently like the black knights in Dark Souls 1, or should I just expect everything to come back?
There are some, but I think most (if not all) of them have boss health bars that appear when you fight them.

Does anyone know if the DLC for the new Mario Kart 8 tracks requires a Nintendo Online subscription?
I don't believe so unless you're looking to play online with friends. And even then, you can play the new tracks without the DLC as long as a friend has it. Online play requires an NSO sub, and NSO + Expansion Pass gives the new DLC for free, but you can buy the DLC outright for local play and get instant access to each new wave as it releases.

Ok, yeah that’s what I was wondering. I wouldn’t play online regularly enough to justify the cost of the NSO subscription, but I’d like to have all the new tracks for local play.

Just played House of Ashes from the Dark Pictures Anthology and rather liked it. It's our first foray into the series (and purportedly the best entry so far). The ending we got wasn't particularly great with several untimely deaths along the way, but the story was engaging and we had fun cajoling the characters. Feels good to fit a full playthrough into one day.

The archeological dig setting felt extra prescient after having started the day with a book club meeting for The Exorcist. But as the story evolved, it showed its inspiration from many other classic horror films that fit together pretty well. Won't spill any specifics though on account of spoilers.

I really enjoyed the storyline and game of Wonderlands much better than Borderlands 3.

Currently doing some end game stuff and grinding for better loot.
I need to pick this one up once it drops in price a little bit. I'm still working my way through the BL3 DLC with only one left before I'm fully done. I really, really liked Tina's DLC from BL2 so I'm looking forward to this one.

Haven't gotten to play Elden Ring as much as I'd like, but I'm making steady progress. I've beaten 3 or 4 bosses and have been working my way south. Just crossed the bridge and went to the area that has the statue looking guys. Got to the boss but didn't try it yet, got to be too late last night. I do have a question for anyone playing - have you had any issues with dodging seeming to have a delay from the time you press it? I really struggled with Bloodhound Knight Darriwil because it felt like there was a delay after each press. I'm playing a strength build with a two handed weapon. I did switch from a longsword to a battle axe shortly before this fight, but my equip load was 23.6 / 54.4. I tried taking off armor but that didn't seem to help. Also adding armor didn't seem to hurt. I've switched back to the longsword and it seems a bit better. The sword is almost half the weight of the axe, but I took at least that much armor off to no effect. Are the axes just way slower for movement in general?

you definitely should not be seeing a delay in rolling since I would ask if you had heavy armor on. But that equip load should not be giving you a delay or lag.

I'm pretty sure that the larger the sword the slower it is to swing it. I've stuck with short swords because I'd rather be quick with 2-3 hits instead of a more powerful swing with a larger sword.

I don't think you roll until you let go of the button, are you accounting for that?

Good to know that works like it used to, thought I was going crazy. I almost wonder if my kids messed with my TV settings. Now that I think about it, I was struggling with the dodge speed on Mortal Shell, maybe there's some lag happening. Both were played through my One X, didn't seem to have issues playing DS3 on my PC. I'll have to check that tonight.
