Tears of the Kingdom... We now have a name. And a half a year wait ahead of us still.
The hype is collosal
It'll for sure have it's own Direct in between now and then. My hype stems from this just looking like BotW on an even bigger, more ambitious scale. It's going to be incredible.I wish that trailer got me more hyped. trust me, it's Zelda, it'll be a 10/10... but I wanted more than date and title.
And an official date!Tears of the Kingdom... We now have a name. And a half a year wait ahead of us still.
Huh?@ me if they announce Switch 2 or a LoZ Switch.
@Max Sterling
or did you mean a Zelda themed Switch console? if so, no hardware at all was announced
Very curious what this means lolLoZ sequels bum me out.
Direct sequels. Most Legend of Zelda games are fresh stories from fresh timelines, or time periods, only linked (lol) by the characters names and lore.Very curious what this means lol
When I think of Zelda games (not the deepest fan, so I may be off base), it seems like each one has its own distinct gameplay mechanic. BotW made that mechanic an open world; maybe that's ethereal enough that another dip in the same well won't feel like a case of diminishing returns? I say this as someone who enjoyed BotW but never beat it and got extremely frustrated by the breaking weapons/shields.Direct sequels. Zelda II: The Adventures Link wasn't good. Majora's Mask was one long timed mission, I hated it. Phantom Hour Glass and Spirit Tracks were meh.
I much prefer games built on completely new structures. I guess a caveat to that would be Links Awakening and Link Between Worlds were spiritual sequels to Link to the Past. They were great, but still, I don't want another Breath of the Wild, Breath of the Wild was awesome, now it's time for a new game, not more of the same.
If they fix this, the horrible climbing mechanic and allow me to not make food i'd be in to give this a go.I say this as someone who enjoyed BotW but never beat it and got extremely frustrated by the breaking weapons/shields.
I never beat BotW either despite buying it for both Wii U and Switch...I have until May to finally beat it before the next oneWhen I think of Zelda games (not the deepest fan, so I may be off base), it seems like each one has its own distinct gameplay mechanic. BOTW is probably my pick for gaming’s GOAT, but I hear you. I too was disappointed by Majora’s Mask and to this day was never able to muster to energy to get into that game. But I also can’t picture myself NOT buying BOTW2 the day it comes out. I’ve played through BOTW at least 3 times (once on Master Mode), and its DLC once.Direct sequels.
