Day 11 - National Guitar Day - Play something that has a guitar sound you love.
Clean guitar tone is fine, but I go for that gritty, emotional sound. Think a locomotive with no brakes screaming down the mountain, rounding a curve and leaning toward certain death over the edge of the precipice with the inside wheels off the ground but somehow managing to avoid the tipping point - that's my favorite guitar tone.
Rather set up for this by @Yer Ol' Uncle D and his v generous record. Loving the guitar sound on this one. Must admit I enjoyed this last night with a refreshing beer.
Day 10 - International Cribbage Day - Play something about games, strategy, luck, or a skunk
20 Miles "I'm a lucky guy"
Lucky lucky! Honestly I don't remember this record at all, probably haven't played it since '98, I do remember it was $12 and the guy at the store said there might be a used one for $11 but I felt like splurging so I went with the new one!

While all the lineups of the DBT have been solid, there was something special about the Hood / Cooley / Isbell era. Lots of dirty tones intertwining in the best possible way, especially on this album. And live it was even better.

I was listening to something the other day and thought to myself - man that I love their guitar sound...it was distinctively that artist's/band's sound.
Can't remember what the hell I was listening to. Not sure if it was a record or off of spotify...or some video I was streaming. Totally gone from memory.
So I'm picking something else...I think. It's in my need to spin pile - so I'm forcing it in. I do like his guitar work, though.
Captain Sensible has been the primary guitarist since the Machine Gun Etiquette (minus a couple gaps of a few years in the 80's and 90's)

Love the prompt.
My first favorite guitarist was Page, and the solo on SRtS version of No Quarter is sublime, imo. The solo on The Rover is a close second.
Tony Iommi, Eddie Hazel, and Stevie Ray Vaughan are honorable mentions. (And my wife reeeaaally wanted me to mention Jack White.)

Hum "You'd Prefer an Astronaut"
The guitar is what first drew me to this band and I haven't spun this in a while so why not?
