Fresh Grabs

That’s amazing, $40 is a steal. Doing the Unstuck and A Letter to Elise are two of my favorite Cure songs.
A Letter to Elise is 🔥🔥
This is probably my favorite Cure record. It’s held up very high above Boys Don’t Cry. I mean, I could have just gotten The Greatest Hits but, they barely put on any from Wish and the album, front to back, is fantastic. Had to have it and when he said the vinyl was in great shape but the cover was rough, I knew the cover didn’t matter with the price I paid.

It’s an awesome piece to have. Don’t know why I waited so long.

I’m waiting for this to be released again... The Cure - Galore (The Singles 1987-1997)

Lucked out at the local! I saw a couple guys raving about the ORG The Bridge pressing today and thought to myself “got to make sure you pick that up soon”... fast forward a couple hours and I find it at the local along with a OJC Riverside of Bill Evan’s Explorations! Was originally going to pass on it because it looked FILTHY but I took a chance and the clean has revealed a NM quality disc under all the grime, this sounds fantastic!B419751D-888C-4C03-8E87-A92D70FB5C86.jpeg

Mr Bongo delivery. First is Jason McGuiness ‎– Empyrean Tones, a jazz album released in 2019 featuring Kamasi Washington, Phil Ranelin, Mark de Clive-Lowe or Patrick Bailey from Breakestra). You can listen to this album on Common Good Records Bandcamp Page. The second is The Jazz Minstrels ‎– Party, an amazing OG private press released in 1980 by musicians from Cincinnati, OH. You can learn more on this page but basically they only played medieval instruments and reworked songs from the 13th & 15th centuries mixed together with jazz. This record went for sale at a Dj Shadow pop-up store at Rappcats a few years ago (the whole story is in the link I shared above). A few copies are still available at Mr Bongo UK web shop. Enjoy!

A tale of two Siouxsies.....

I ordered the blue vinyl edition of The Scream by Siouxsie back in January from Juno. This is what I received.

I subsequently sent an email to the fine folks at Juno, and I obliged them with pics, to which they sent me a new copy, no need to sent the damaged one back! Hooray!!

The mail came today. This is the box.

It looks like it was left in a puddle. Weird, because I’ve ordered from Juno lots without issues. Anyways, will they send me a third copy? Who knows....stay tuned.

The Men - Electric 7”
The Men - New Moon
The Men - Campfire Songs EP
The Men - Live In Zagreb [cassette]
The Men - Leave Home
The Men - Tomorrow’s Hits

I‘ve been in an indie guitar rock mood recently and spent a good amount of time revisiting The Men’s discography. Since I only had Open Your Heart on wax I figured I would check on adding some of their other releases When I went on Discogs to price em I was happy to discover that most of their LP’s including their limited edition releases were about $15 or less. I found a seller that was selling them all and figured I might as well save on shipping. The Campfire Songs release is kinda interesting as the jacket is wood. The Men’s output has been fairly diverse stylistically but their quality never dips.
