Last couple of weeks:

First up, most of my PIFsgiving records came in! Thanks to everyone who participated!

Couple of preorders from the summer from SIC Records finally arrived. Despite the long wait and uncertainty, I'm actually really happy with the quality of these.

Some pickups from Mello Music Group from their latest sale. Been wanting Mr. Lif on physical for a while now. Also trying to slowly fill the gaps in Oddisee's catalog. Love when labels provide standard pressings for cheap.

Finally picked up Kind Of Blue on vinyl. Took nearly 20 years, but also finally expanding my Norah Jones experience beyond her debut.

Grab bag of rap/hip-hop pick-ups. I already have an OG copy of the Big Boi, but it's one of my favorite albums so I doubled up with the VMP version. Much like the Oddisee, I'm trying to fill in my Curren$y collection.
That’s my favorite Norah Jones album!

Received some mail today! Above are some PIFs, from the recent PIFsgiving. Below are some stuff that arrived:

First up, @Crabbers sent me this 12" Thom Yorke single, with some B-Sides. Always awesome to have more Yorke in my collection, even better that it was a gift! Thanks again 🤘🔥💜

This one came in the same package as the TY single. Already heard it, and it's not that bad. Cool guitar music.

Next my VMP Swap of the Month.

And lastly, this that I have no recollection of ordering lol, I think I ordered it a while back from the Jazz thread 🤔IMG_20201217_194306.jpg

Still waiting on my Santee's gifts to arrive, missing another part of that(Sorry about that, you'll probably receive it after Christmas), and a few items I think I'm missing. Will have to double check on that!

Donny Hathaway - Everything Is Everything (ATCO Records, 2020 Vmp Classics Pressing)
Billie Holiday - Lady Sings The Blues (Verve Records, 2020 VMP Essentials Pressing)
Idris Muhammad - Black Rhythm Revolution! (Prestige, 2020 VMP/Jazz Dispensary Limited Pressing)
The Ray Russell Quartet - Spontaneous Event - Live Vol. 1: 1967-69 (Jazz In Britain, 2020 Limited Signed Pressing)
Muriel Grossmann - Quiet Earth (RR GEMS, 2020 Limited Pressing)
Dinner Party - S/T (Empire, 2020 VMP Limited Exclusive)
Victor Feldman Modern Jazz Septet / Quartet - Typhoon / How Deep Is The Ocean (Esquire, 1955 First 7" Pressing)

A superb hall over the past few days. I still have quite a few which are due to delivery now, but the post here is pretty crazy at the moment so I guess they will arrive when they arrive. I actually went for the Donny Hathaway completely blind, never hearing his music before so I look forward to this. The Billie Holiday is, of course, a classic and one which I think will be a brilliant album to play over the Christmas period. I'm actually really impressed with the first look at the Idris Muhammed, the jacket is made of really thick card so hopefully the record itself is of high quality. The Ray Russell is the one which I am most excited for, after foolishly passing up on it when it was first released and digging on the internet to find a copy. I actually ordered a copy from Japan and a few days later Jazz In Britain found a handful (I think it was 14) copies which they had Russell sign, so I picked this one up as well (I will list the other copy for sale for the price I paid once it arrives). Really excited for this new one by the superb Muriel Grossman, I have yet to hear any music from her that disappoints. The Dinner Party is another blind buy, but the line-up was so impressive that I'm sure it will be good. And finally a cheapo 7" which features Dizzy Reece on trumpet.

Oh man that's crazy, was it shipped from their bandcamp? I had the shipping notification the other day but still not here, very impressive that it got to the US first.
It said it shipped from North Carolina. I got something saying it was shipping late from the label, but never an actual shopping notice with tracking so I didn't know where it was coming from.

It sounds fantastic!

Orchestre Baobab - Viva Bawobab S1 / Si Bou Odja
Muriel Grossmann - Golden Rule

Last scheduled delivery of the year and it's a beauty. One of the greats of west African music - I have an OG of this but without the cover so v happy to get this fabulous sounding reissue. Really worth checking out. And I've got the rest of the wonderful Muriel Grossmann on vinyl so it felt worthwhile picking up this single.
