I'll be honest, I didn't think this was ever gonna pop up. It also completes, for now, my Sarah Jarosz collection (solo and I'm With Her) though she's still on some compilations I don't have. Just overjoyed to get a copy of my favorite release of hers and the album that introduced me to Americana.

Songs from a Ghost Town is fire! Didn’t really get into there other albums though. Might have to jump back in and try again. Also first concert we took our oldest son to.

Cheap reissues, Daptone, Pacific

IMG_1084.jpg

Got some curbside pickups at my local. Everything except Pacific was under $15 - kinda wary of a couple of the reissues based on a couple of reviews on discogs, but we shall see. The Pacific is the Victory (bootleg?) pressing that's got good reviews on discogs.

Big mail day today. Also, a strange mix of albums from various genres.

My dad sent me 5 albums:
Pearl Jam - Vs. (Sealed 2011 pressing)
Pearl Jam - Vitalogy (Sealed 2011 pressing)
Johnny Cash - 1957 OG Sun Records pressing
Creedance - Willy and the Poor Boys (US 1969 OG pressing), and
Ozzy - Blizzard of Ozz (1981 Jet Records)

@RoxCity hooked me up with the Dolphy Blue Note via the PIF thread. Gotta say, this De Agostini pressing looks absolutely flawless. It's like black, etched glass. Wow! Looking forward to spinning this one.

I also picked up some Metal Fingers DOOM for myself.

Just a few new additions from January, thankfully. Only one of which was purchased in the same month, and one photo is all that is necessary!

January Acquistions

Aminé - Limbo
Between the Buried and Me - Colors
Tina Brooks - The Waiting Game
Hilary Woods - Birthmarks

Aminé and Tina Brooks are both Target preorders ordered individually with cancellation trick, though I wonder if it will be fixed by the time their next sale rolls around.
Got the MPO repress of BtBaM's seminal record thanks to help from the Pre-Order Thread. Another one of my all-time top 50 down.
Hilary Woods' most recent LP is the only one I purchased in the month, and it has been a nice discovery from a deep dive into the Sacred Bones label. Brooding and sinister sounds that ooze Dead Can Dance and other neoclassical darkwave acts are all over this one.

If you like Hilary Woods’ second album you should check out her debut album Colt from 2018. It’s along similar lines but is by far the stronger set, for me.

Shes a local artist from Dublin and this album was recorded in Galway which is the county my Mum was from. Fun fact: She is a couple of years older than me and in her late teens/early twenties she used to be the bassist in a early 00s Smashing Pumpkins aping guitar pop trio called JJ72 that I was absolutely obsessed with when I was 16/17.

I’ll have to try and get to see her live if she does any shows when we get our lives back.

Jon Batiste - Soul
The Jazzhole - S/T

The Jazzhole is an album I’ve been looking for for years but hardly shows up in the US. Found a copy on Discogs from a US seller for a good price recently so jumped at it.

As for Soul, I much prefer the Jon Batiste tracks to the other score (sorry NIN stans) and the vinyl packing is great, the inner gatefold reminds me of a Blue Note album.

Ya I have the Reznor version which is great, more ambient, but they're 2 completely different "flavors" of music, I have this one ordered as well :)

I personally prefer the Batiste soundtrack (figures!) and think the overall package is absolutely fantastic.

Been way too long since I had time to do some cleaning and go through all my recent additions but this is from about the last month and a half or so. Mostly went on a vinyl diet but with a couple relapses of course.

1st off is a nice small Ship to Shore package.

Joe Bob's Jukebox Numero Uno Box Set
Stefano Mainetti ‎– Zombi 3 Soundtrack

PXL_20210203_091800276.jpg

Everything below besides the Segall was from the last acoustic sounds sale.. Is there anyone that uses a better shipping box then them? It's a tank of protection and even had a retractable handle

Halloween 4 & 5 (Orange) + Box
Ty Segall ‎– Pig Man Lives Volume I Box (4LP)
The Doors ‎– L.A. Woman (45rpm 2LP)
Grayson Capps & The Lost Cause Minstrels Volume 2

PXL_20210203_092108740.jpg

Was told by SoundOfVinyl to just keep Mac and Halloween with a full refund since they don't accept returns right now so that was a nice unexpected surprise!

Mac Miller ‎– Swimming In Circles Box (4LP)
Brandi Carlile ‎– A Rooster Says 12"
Logic ‎– No Pressure + Signed Poster
Rob Zombie's Halloween Soundtrack
The Black Crowes ‎– Before The Frost...Until The Freeze

PXL_20210203_092513734.jpg

Margo Price ‎– Perfectly Imperfect At The Ryman (Signed Red Splatter)
The Flaming Lips ‎– Transmissions From The Satellite Heart (Grey Rocktober Release)
Paul McCartney - McCartney III (TMR Pressed /3000 Edition)

Then the 2 picture discs are part of the Goodwill Lot.

Black Star ‎– Fix Up 7"
P.O.S. ‎– We Don't Even Live Here

PXL_20210203_093322181.jpg

Last one! All this and the 2 picture discs above was one random lot I won from goodwill's ebay account which was a first for me but they surprisingly did a pretty great packing job and for some reason this lot went much cheaper then a bunch of weaker lp lots.. It came to about 25-30 shipped

Clipping. ‎– CLPPNG (White Loser Edition)
Black Milk ‎– If There's A Hell Below Instrumentals (2LP)
Blueprint ‎– Respect The Architect (Red & Signed)
Eyedea & Abilities ‎– By The Throat (Marbled OG Release) This is the main one I was hyped about which would have easily been worth it alone.
