Yes yes, I know I failed no-buy June miserably. But there is a no-buy July thread/challenge to begin at the turn of the month, so I will be committed. Especially now that I have gotten my fill from Musique Plastique after having been without them for 2+ years.
To be transparent, I only have two other single record orders made previously that should arrive in the coming days to make next month's post short.

PIF Claim + Birthday Gift
Art Pepper -
Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section
Amy Winehouse -
Back to Black
Art Pepper claimed from
@JohnnyCashFan.
Amy Winehouse was gifted to me as part of a late birthday gift. Not something I would've added to the library on my own accord, but I am pleased with how her music has aged over a decade later.

Outro Tempo (Electronic and Contemporary Music From Brazil 1978-1992)
Both the Nicolas Gaunin and Omni Gardens records are on the Moon Glyph label (based here in Portland, OR). The former is an avant-garde record focusing on sonic world-building with kalimbas, miniature gongs, flutes, and field recordings to create a very tropical environment. As for
Moss King, I'm certain Mort Garson and Roedelius listeners would enjoy the soft, pillowy moog synthesizers presented here. This label is a joy, and the newest release from last Friday is also lovely.
Bought the newest Patricia Wolf LP after seeing her open yesterday for CS + Kreme. Although I did not purchase Patricia's newest record from MP directly, I did learn from them that they will be stocking both this and
I'll Look for You in Others in the coming months, when an eventual repress is made available. Wonderful to see them do her a solid. With her newest record being on a Spanish label (Balmat), I predict Patricia's name will spread in the ambient/enviro/new age community rather quickly. So happy for her.
Harumi Yasuda's LP is a compilation of city pop/Japanese synthpop. The first track is actually the theme song to the Miyazaki classic
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, as I recognized it immediately when spinning it at home for my collection playthrough. Even better, when Tony (store owner) was giving this a whirl for the shop's background music, I saw that it was only $25 for an OG import and couldn't believe it! Had to snag it right then and there after he had finished spinning side 1. He is a hound for stocking the new arrivals/imports with excellent finds week in and week out. It even has a sticker sheet and poster that the original came with in pristine shape!
I couldn't believe that there was a sealed copy of the harsh noise/power electronics/drone LP
Going Places by Yellow Swans, either!! It is hilariously out of print and was right there for $25.
Some more Music From Memory greatness, too. Great compilation of Brazilian music that sounds so ahead of its time. With the label being from Amsterdam, I'm glad that Tony can price MFM releases/reissues reasonably.
I'm so overjoyed that they are back!!
Current Year pickups
The Bogie Band (feat. Joe Russo) -
The Prophets in the City
Zola Jesus -
Arkhon
The Prophets in the City is highly likely among my top50 come time for this year's megalist, thanks again to
@avecigrec for highlighting it. Infectious energy all around. DeepDiscount had deadstock marked down to under $10 shipped last month, so that was an easy decision.
Took a leap on the newest Zola Jesus LP during the final Bandcamp Friday, having never listened to Nika's music prior. Beautiful, yet brooding, art pop effort. A top50 contender for my list as well.

The Machine is Burning and Now Everyone Knows it Could Happen Again
Sigur Rós -
( )
It seemingly took ages, but one of the best post-rock efforts of the past decade finally arrived two days ago. The musical and emotional progression on display here fully encapsulates how powerfully post-rock can be executed and the heights it can achieve.
Another post-rock selection as well, and a classic at that. My favorite Sigur Rós LP, I like it quite more than
Ágætis byrjun, actually. Outside of Musique Plastique breaking my no-buy June will, this album is actually the only one I've purchased this month. It is my lone purchase made during the Target sale from two weeks ago.
