Stone Temple Pilots - Core
Stone Temple Pilots - Purple
INXS - Kick
The Velvet Underground - Loaded

I have been waiting for a while for the VU to go live so I could order a few of these AP Atlantic 75 titles in one fell swoop.

Some other recent highlights…

Robert Pollard - Not In My Air Force
Phish - Junta
Ben Seretan - Allora
MJ Lenderman -
Manning Fireworks
That’s an OG pressing of Pollard’s solo debut. The Phish is a recent reissue and the bottom two are 2024 AOTY contenders.
That Orange Juice is a fave of mine

Tony Oxley - S/T (Incus, 1975 First Pressing)
The John Cameron Quartet - Off Centre (Deram, 1969 First Stereo Pressing)
Graham Collier Music - Midnight Blue (Mosaic, 1975 First Pressing)
Chris McGregor - In His Good Time (Ogun, 1979 First Pressing)

Filling up the gaps in my British jazz collection. The Tony Oxley is fantastic with some incredible artwork by Alan Davie. I have a mono of the John Cameron but the sleeve isn't great, so happy to upgrade to this one. There not too many of Graham Collier's albums that I am missing, but "Midnight Blue" was one that just seemed to allude me constantly, until now! Finally, a superb Ogun album from Chris McGregor!

Jeff Parker - Forfolks (International Anthem Recording Company, Limited Pressing)
The Dankworth Big Band - Lifeline (Philips, 1973 First Pressing)
The Rolling Stones - Their Satanic Majesties Request (Decca, 1967 First Pressing)
George Benson - Stormy Weather (Embassy, 1978 First Pressing)
Nat King Cole - Unforgettable (Capitol Records, 1960 First 7" Pressing)

Today's carboot sale was pretty decent. The star is the Jeff Parker, which has been on my wantlist for ages and I've heard great things about.

Another exciting batch…

Robert Palmer - Sneakin’ Sally Through The Alley
John Hiatt - Bring The Family
Bonny ‘Prince’ Billy & The Picket Line - Funtown Comedown
Mason Jennings - Mason Jennings
The War On Drugs -
Live Drugs Again

The Japanese pressing of Sneakin’ Sally… was a nice eBay win. The rest I picked up when I swung by my local earlier this week to pick up the new War On Drugs live album, unfortunately I did not get one of the intermixed blue variants but that’s alright the black will still get the job done.

Cymande - S/T (Janus Records, 1972 First Pressing)
John & Alice Coltrane - Cosmic Music (Coltrane Recording Corporation, 1968 First Pressing)
Wilton "Bogey" Gaynair - Blue Bogey (Tempo Records, 1959 First Pressing)
Eddie Thompson - Some Strings, Some Skins And A Bunch Of Keys (Hobo Records, 1979 First Pressing)
The Tony Kinsey Quintet - How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying (Decca, 1963 First Stereo Pressing)
Tony Graham Combo - Satisfied (Reverberation, 1967 First Signed Pressing)

Lots of huge heat over the past few weeks. Cymande have been on my streaming service on repeat since I saw them live last year and I'm over the moon to finally have found an original pressing of their debut album. Cosmic Music is a massive find and the pressing that precedes the Impulse pressing. Despite the missing sleeve, the biggest score is Wilton Gaynair's album on Tempo Records, a crazy rare record and the only one he released in his lifetime. The Eddie Thompson is the last of 4 albums of the Hobo label that showcases "Modern" British jazz (although this has traditional elements) and completes my collection. Equally, the Tony Kinsey album was the last I needed by the drummer and has the most bizarre title of any British jazz. Finally, an oddball cheap purchase which I bought on a whim after being intrigued by the cover and the fact that the rear is signed by all the musicians.

Nubya Garcia - Odyssey (Concord Records, 2024 Limited Signed First Pressing)
Bobby Hutcherson - The Kicker (Blue Note, 2020 First Tone Poet Pressing)
Charles Lloyd - The Sky Will Still Be There Tomorrow (Blue Note, 2024 First Pressing)

"New" releases that arrived over the past few days. The Nubya Garcia is a fantastic package that includes 2LP's on coloured vinyl, a booklet, a signed art print, and incense sticks! Bobby Hutcherson's "The Kicker" has been at the top of my Tone Poet want list since it was released but I've not seen a copy that wasn't crazy expensive until this one, really looking forward to digging in! Finally, the latest album by Charles Lloyd on Blue Note.

Ramones – Rocket To Russia (Sire, 2024 Vinyl Me Please Essentials Pressing)
Junior Wells - It's My Life, Baby (Vanguard, 2024 Vinyl Me Please Classics Pressing)
Alice Coltrane - Transfiguration (Warner Records, 2024 Vinyl Me Please Classics Pressing)

After months of back and forth with VMP I finally gave up on them fixing the issue with their postal service (they keep changing the shipping label to a random address that isn't mine and doesn't reflect the info on my membership page) and changed my address to a family members house. 2 boxes arrived in the past couple of days which I think now finalises my time with VMP. Rocket To Russia will be the first on my table, it looks stellar!

Teo Macero With The Prestige Jazz Quartet - Teo (Prestige, 2024 Vinyl Me Please Classics Pressing)

The second VMP box, some of these have been on my order list for over 6 months, so glad they finally arrived!
