Fresh Grabs

Don't quite understand my local shop - they've priced nearly all Tone Poets at about £45 but suddenly saw the one I wanted, Andrew Hill's Black Fire, for £24 (as cheap as anywhere in Europe - which never is normally the case for Norway) so snapped it up. Excited to hear this, out-of-tune piano or not.

Donald Byrd- Ethiopian Knights
Lou Donaldson - Alligator Bogaloo

These will prolly be the last two Blue Note 80 releases I pick up until they drop the Lonnie Smith and Grant Green Live albums at the end of year. I have really enjoyed all of these releases immensely.

The Chef Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
Clipse - Hell Hath No Fury

This was my Get On Down order primarily to grab OB4CL on purple wax but I figured I should grab the Clipse while for under $20 to save on shipping.

It’s damn good! I actually think I like this lot more than both Idles and Fontaines D.C.
Fontaines never agreed with me. There are a handful of half decent songs on it, but nothing amazing. I also hate the mix - the vocals totally overpower the music.

Listened to a wee bit of The Murder Capital, and I’m definitely liking it a lot more. Missed them playing last night in Glasgow...
