Hip Hop

I meant to put "not just that" but my tired ass said something completely different, haha.

Yeah. I mean, I used to fuck with the Daupe drops and all that shit, but it hit a point where you could grab a copy of GOAT on ebay for $60 or pay near that n the bancamp drop anyway. Even if I ordered 2 or 3 items at once, they'd split the items and charge me shipping on each. I was over it. Lynch needs to do a statewide drop. Restrict them to being the European distributor.

They did that with Mavi, but the second one sold out just as fast, so get your F5 finger ready, just in case.

There's always comments under these types of IG posts and they don't really respond, so I went back to an old post on Lynch's IG where I was asking about a reissue and asked him if there was anything stateside, or if we were going to have to deal with a 2 minute sell out and fucked up shipping. So, he DM'd me. He said that he "feels me on the shipping" because it's bad for them when they order from us. I just told him that this is a different type of release than their usual drops. I first heard that album in Sacramento in the 90s, because everyone was bumping it. So, the idea that I live on the Westcoast and I have to reach out to the Netherlands to get it isn't ideal. The shipping is bad enough, but if I can't even get a copy at all, after all this time... fuck. I've been pushing for this for too damn long. Wrote articles about it and how it needs a repress, posted about it on the old forum... I'll get a copy. I guess we'll just see how it goes.

FWIW, I ordered two from them the only time I went for a DRW drop and they do combine shipping, still expensive, but better. So, if a couple people on here buy 2, they can look out for each other.

Cool. And I know more info will still be unfolding, Plus. he told me that I could always just message him if I have any questions. I'm definitely going to try and get it, regardless. This just feels different. This needs a readily available standard release. I'm just trying to listen to "Rest In Piss" with my family.

Wow, J Cole really did a whole song about how Noname's approach to activism is wrong and how he knows the right way for her to do it. Seems like he could direct his criticism towards other people/things during these times, right?

This new song of his is atrocious, man. Noname is literally running a book club and constantly sharing resources to learn about political/social causes, places to donate to, etc. and J Cole's response was essentially "why aren't you spoonfeeding this info to me? I don't like your tone". His dismissive and holier-than-thou approach throughout the entire song reeked of sexism and ignorance. Those little lines at the beginning about "people think I'm smart, you're probably smarter than me, BUT..." really don't do anything to offset the rest of what he says

EDIT: I could go on and on about this song so I'm gonna have to stop myself after this lol. But the "she's somebody blessed enough to grow up with conscious family who educated her from a young age" line is really ironic. Noname was posting a lot of pro-capitalist stuff just a couple years ago and got a lot of critique on twitter about it. She didn't call anyone "haters" or dismiss them; she educated herself, changed her opinion, and is now helping to educate others. J Cole should take a page out of her book

I haven't heard it yet, but I'm just going to assume he's right
