Hot Take/ Musical Confession Thread!

Is this a Hot take ?

Has anyone ever eaten a McDonalds Breaksfast. They loolk really bad and ive never ever been brave enough.
I'm with you on this. Literally everyone else in my family loves every bit of the McD's breakfast menu, but the only things I find palatable are the hash brown patties and the coffee, and TBH I'm not real jazzed about those either, I just hate them less than the other items on the menu.

Weren't we discussing Spoon recently? The new album sounds like Tom Petty did a collab with Oasis.
Really? More like Britt Daniel decided Pixies and Gang of Four were bands the new kids with disposable income had never related to and the only band he, himself could relate to anymore that he felt certain everyone must still know was The Rolling Stones so he demanded everyone brush up on emulating them now.

The good thing with both of these takes is that I can't tell if you think this is a good or a bad thing 😂
I stick by my initial hot take. It sounds like Tom Petty and Oasis made an album together. They needed it to be sleepy time music though.

I love Beyonce. Her self-titled was easily my album of the year that year and Lemonade was a once a generation album. I found Renaissance reductive and frankly a bit boring. If you want to empower queer people support queer artists, Blood Orange makes waaaay better albums than Renaissance that are danceable and not the same as what was playing in the clubs when I was in college.

OK then.

So, so much wrong with this. How are you going to have Taco Bell as an F, but Panera as a B?! Panera is hospital food and Taco Bell is drunk food from the gods. Sonic gave me food poisoning so they are an F forever. Five Guys could be an A, but they are too damn pricey.

Your A-tier is cool by me.

I haven't eaten at a Noodles & Company in ten years, are they even still in business?

Little Caesar's in anything but F is also questionable

Canes is an overpriced diarrhea factory. Jersey Mike's is A tier though. The rest is also wrong.

This is a hotter take than any music related thing I've read on here, @Rip_City 😂

I have no issues with fast food but I haven’t eaten at a half dozen of these places ever and another half dozen I haven’t eaten in over a decade. I just had Jersey Mike’s for the first time a couple weeks ago, It was alright. Popeyes and Five Guys are probably at the top of my list, Jack in The Box and Little Cesar’s would be at the bottom.

The fast food I eat the most often is Pho (Vietnamese soup) in Western Washington there is one of these joint on like every other block, I bet there are more pho joints than McDonald’s in Tacoma. I know this doesn’t really fit in with the other chain restaurants but that (and my love for extremely spicy Buffalo wings) is probably why I don’t eat at more of these chains more often.

Fast Food Pizza blows but Dominos is my favorite of the big chains. I miss old school Pizza Hut (prior to Yum Brands ruining it) where they were sit down restaurants with the red roof, had a juke box, arcade games, and salad bar. You could buy soda or beer by the pitcher to be poured in those textured red plastic cups.

Fast Food Burger joints for me are basically McDonald’s then everything else. 5 Guys or Shake Shake are a step above and usually much better but usually aren’t as convenient and cost more so I don’t order from them often.

Taco Bell is cheap drunk fast food. Out here in the Pac NW it has a bit of competition with Taco Time which has better food overall but isn’t open nearly as late. Chipotle is fine but a bit over priced and if I want a giant burrito I can usually get something equivalent at one of the millions of taco trucks that sit at every other gas station.

Denny’s would go with Waffle House in that they are open 24 hours and I’ve don’t know if I have ever eaten at either sober and never anything other than breakfast foods.

For fried Chicken, Popeyes is the best. KFC is alright in a pinch but I would always choose Popeyes if given an option. Chik Fil a, is fine but the Chik Fil-a cult usually makes the lines too busy to mess with.

Sandwich spots Subway is mostly garbage but I know what I like from when I worked there in High School so I eat there more than I should considering the quality. Jimmy John’s is better but nothing too outstanding, I enjoyed Jersey Mike’s and have never had Firehouse subs. I would say my favorite sandwich chain is Pot Belly’s which isn’t very big out here. We have lots of decent local places that make yummy subs so I usually go that route if I am craving a sub depending on convenience.

Arby’s is a sandwich place but it’s different enough that I wouldn’t include it with the other sandwich spots. I don’t get Arby’s when I crave a sandwich, I get Arby’s when I crave Arby’s. I only get roast beef sandwiches and curly fries.

I will eat at Long John Silver’s once every couple years. It’s not great but sometimes I get a craving.

I would f*** some Potbelly's up right now. Give me a Wreck with the pickled peppers.

Subsequently, Potbelly's will f*** me up.

alright.

There are almost no fast food places in Vermont and I never eat fast food anymore. This is mostly from previous experience living in another state and when traveling.

EDIT: there are 1000 of these on Tiermaker so I just chose one with a reasonable amount of options

I've never had a good Raising Cane's experience. The chicken is super bland and wouldn't be good at all if not for that ONE dipping sauce they have.

Taco Bell is top tier for me. It's cheap and, at least here in California, consistently delicious. It's been the fast food place my wife and I have eaten at the most over the past ~20 years together.
