Immerse Your Soul In Love - The Radiohead Thread

So for those that got the scarry book, is every corner on the top bent like mine? The bottom corner is crisp. Every record sleeve in the book has seam splits, and the extras all have the same corner dings as the book.

Shit sorry! No, not at all mine was really clean, just the distortion issue on How To Disappear Completely. Totally hit up waste though, they seem to be really receptive.

Well, got the Kid A OG today that was described as both "wonderful" and "phenomenal"... these might be the dirtiest discs I've ever seen. No joke, holy cow. Dropped a needle briefly and yeah... this is not what I would describe as either of those terms... Noisy AF. We'll see what happens once I clean it but, probably just gunna take the L on this one and move on. I will also put a firm checkmark in the "I had a feeling and probably should have listened to it" column...

Well, that's a bummer. Hopefully it'll clean up for you.

They certainly might, I mean there is NO chance these have ever been cleaned. But that being said the jacket and sleeves are near mint so it doesn't seem like it's been played all that much just looking at that... It's possible after a clean and once I get a bit farther into the sides it'll quiet down. It's also possible it was played to death on a Crosley and it carved out of the grooves. But I mean, you take your chances. There's a reason I only have like 5 used records in my entire collection. I pretty much only buy used sealed or new. But we'll see, no biggie either way, I'm more bummed that I probably have to remove this seller as an option because he gets some really good stuff.

Actually, question... Those of you that have the OG 10 inch UK Parlophone Kid A. How silent is it? Like do you have low level crackle on it in the quiet parts, or is it dead black? I know that Radiohead pressings aside from In Rainbows box are all kinda iffy, and from what I've read this one is no different. Maybe this is just what it sounds like...

Is this the seller that sells out of the murder loft?

It’s not dead black silent, but it’s not a bad press either. It’s by far and away the most dynamic and natural sounding press of this album and there isn’t enough noise on the copy I have to take away from that. That said mine like yours was an almost never played find, was utterly filthy and I’m guessing that 20 years in those card sleeves have caused a few hairlines that could be the culprit rather than the pressing itself.

Okay cool we'll see, I know it'll clean up to some degree, I mean it has to. It's comically dirty. When I pulled the sleeve out the jacket a wild ferret actually popped out and handed me the record so like... WTF.
