I also said there is a lot of crackle and pops at points that aren’t static , even providing videos

I just want to communicate that I am deeply disappointed, angered and frustrated by your position.

Radiohead are one of my favourite acts and this was an album that I was eagerly anticipating, spending €100 on a physical release is not an everyday occurrence. For that price I expect both the packaging and the music to be top quality.

You have not delivered on the second count. There is audible distortion on the high parts at the crescendo of How to Disappear Completely. This is not in my imagination and not limited solely to my copy, everyone I’ve talked to who has bought any version of this remaster has encountered it. I’m guessing that you’ve had to send out a fair number of these fob off emails today?

Resultantly I think it’s ridiculous of you to leave me with a choice of either:

1. No copy; or
2. A substandard copy at full price.

Particularly as you admitted the issue and promised a repress and replacement disc less than 2 months ago!

I invite you to think over your previous, unacceptable correspondence and come back to me with an actual solution to the problem, such as the one promised in early January.

Keep us posted on your results. I kind of suspected this would happen. They're just betting most people aren't going to want to send it back in for a full refund. I really doubt they're going to repress this but in that case I would expected a partial refund at least.

I'd rather just have a good sounding disc than any sort of refund tbh.

I think most of us just want something that sounds good
 
I wonder what Thom would make of this. He has acknowledged HTDC as the song he is most proud. The climax of his most important work and it makes the ears bleed. And the XL vinyl team seem to think it’s fine and can’t “reproduce” the same results.

I call a huge steaming pile of fucking horse shit pressed in to 12”. I’ve heard it, You’ve heard it. Literally thousands of us have heard it. And not just on the Scary Book version either. It was on various editions and copies pressed at different plants across the globe

Own your mistakes, apologise and make restitution would be the classy thing.

I guess it came down to math though and the cost of covering return shipping and having unsatisfied customers is less than cost of fixing their fuck up and repressing.
 
Has anyone received the artbook yet? I remembered I got a shipping notice but I don't have it yet. It's still at label created since the 24th of January... 🤔

Yeah same - still showing “label created.” I got a vague email a couple weeks ago saying that something would ship near the end of february but I wasn’t sure if it was the book or the other stuff that I ordered (calendar and mug).

It is particularly annoying to receive a 2022 wall calendar in March of 2022 when you preordered it in November of 2021.
