Incoming! The New Equipment Thread

Thanks! It ships Tuesday. So this week is moving things around in preparation for it. The Rega will go into the theater system and I’ll be using the Grado Timbre Reference 3 cart from my VPI and hooking up my Lounge Copla to the MM side of my Allnic.

Then I need to pull the VPI’s box from the attic, pack it up and list it. Speaking of, does anyone have a suggestion on an asking price for a 5 1/2 year old VPI Super Prime Scout in very good condition?

I cannot wait to see pics of this beast.

The Eversolo DMP-A8 has been added to the rack. After about 5 days of listening I’m giving the unit a 👍🏾. It sounds good as a preamp into my Kinki and R8. I can’t discern any difference in sound between the DAC in the A8 and my Geshelli J2S. Both use the AKM4499EX chip and sound great. I’ll write up a more detailed review in the Darkside thread.

Congrats on the new table! Hifi Shark can provide guidance for the VPI sale price:

basically. regardless of their musical merits they were insanely well engineered. I have a real nostalgic soft spot for the first three.
No judgement from me at all. I saw them at the Wolftrap when I was in high school. They were great. This was the Yosemite concert thing where they did Copeland and stuff. I was kind of obsessed with them for a minute.

Just listening to the cheap Sangean FM tuner after getting the E800 installed today. Will let it run in for a few days before getting too critical but, oh my, I’m liking what I’m hearing already.
The E650 it is replacing is stellar but this is on a different level.
