It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

To any of the Americans in the audience?

Have you discovered Football Manager yet?

That thing makes heroin seem mildly moreish…

I have not. I’ve seen mixed reviews regarding overall play with the game.
I bought FIFA22 last year for my Switch.
I know that doesn’t compare to playing on the PlayStation or Xbox but until I can easily buy either one of those systems, it will do for now.

Football Manager is just immersive and addictive. It’s not a graphics game, more a kind of deep dive into management. Everyone wants to try and sign Mbappe for their team. Convincing Brazilian Ronaldo to sign for United in the 97/98 version is still a highlight. I lost whole chunks of my adolescence to that game lol. It has got increasingly complex over the years though to the point I probably now prefer the striped back touch version on my iPad to the full PC/Mac game.

FIFA is fun in its way but I find myself quick to tire of it as a one player, it’s joy is to have other people around to play against for me.

Meanwhile Munich loosing is something I’m always here for.
They were so shit. I wasted time watching that tie and missed all the Chelsea goals. Happy they, Chelsea, were knocked out though. It’s probably going to be City/Liverpool in the final.

I dunno I can’t take any pleasure from the most horrible club imaginable going through after being shit. Chelsea are Chelsea but in their favour, they ain’t Franco’s boys.

Watched all of We Are LAFC yesterday.
Good little docuseries about the birth of the Los Angeles Football Club in the MLS.

That lead to me starting Hillsborough but it was late and I needed my beauty sleep, so I’ll finish it today.

I remember watching that LAFC doc a couple of years ago. It was crazy how there was already a ready-to-go supporter club for the team before they even played a single game. It's interesting because LA already has the Galaxy and not that long ago there was Chivas USA too. They either weren't fans or were hoping for another club to come in? Very strange.
