Barca don’t have the money for Raphina. Chelsea actually seems the most likely right now from what I’m hearing. I gather there’s a gentleman’s agreement with Tielmens that if he doesn’t go by August 31st he will sign a one year extension so Leicester get something next year rather than him leaving on a Bosman.

Looks that way, unless they sell and need to replace. There is still 2 months to do the right deal if it appears. Not being in Europe should mean the squad doesn’t need to be so deep too.

Fofana fully fit is a pretty massive addition to last year, that boy looks like he is going to go on to be a really top quality centre half.

I was seeing reports today that Raphinha personally wants to go to Barca, but Barca only want to pay 50m while Leeds are holding out for 70m, which Chelsea (and previously Spurs, who I don’t think need/want him anymore) had offered. I could see him and his agent finding a way to get him to Barca since he really wants to go there.

Barca’s financial situation seems to get worse by the day though. it seems worse than they are letting on, Xavi is having to bar certain players from pre season to try and force them out and get them off the wages.

Yeah they’re truly fucked. Lenglet coming to spurs, he was making like 200k/pw and Spurs will only pay 60% of his wages. They don’t want to bid more for Lewandowski, even though they already have Depay/Aubameyang. Plus they’re probably going to buy 3 Chelsea defenders in Azpilicueta/Christensen/Alonso. If they were sane, they would just stick with Lenglet whoever else they got and not keep rotating through new players every season. Terrible player management.
 
Haha I do really hate him though, more than any other footballer. I have a deep, visceral loathing for him. His ego vastly outweighs his talent and he spends more time rolling about on the ground pretending to be injured than he does actually playing. Puts in some really snide tackles too.

All footballers make the odd bad challenge but his deleted tweet afterwards was infuriating and points to someone who just didn't care he had injured a fellow professional footballer.
 
Damn. He really only had two choices in Brentford and United but I was holding out an ounce of hope that maybe he’d be back at Spurs. 😔

Delighted with this signing, classy operator who gives us options in 3 or 4 positions and obviously a freebie isn’t to be sniffed at!
