The reason why I’m enjoying the PL and football in general is that it’s not structured like American sports. Maybe this blowhard should have invested in an MLS franchise instead.

Maybe even reality the NHL will listen to our cries to bring back the Thrashers, the Whalers, give some teams to Kansas, Utah, and the Dakotas and give the people want that want. NHL and American Hockey League for the Phoenixs and Ottawas of the league. Relegations and Promotions

He will likely be shocked with the backlash and soon learn to shut up. I think the positive for chelsea is that at least him and his consortium appear to be investing money in the club rather than using the clubs own earnings to fund their takeover and lifestyle. English football has sadly rapidly become the ownership Wild West though and is bad need of independent regulation.
Competition wise the pyramid is sacrosanct and I can’t ever see that changing. The idea that I could set up a club tomorrow, enter at the bottom rung of the pyramid and one day play in the premier league is just too in built into the national psyche. Closed leagues just wouldn’t work.
