That was perfect by Herdman, took all the pressure off our players and put all the focus on him. Same thing every coach says to every team before every game and the Croatian coach knows that. This is the World Cup, if a team needs locker room material to get up then they aren't going anywhere anyhow. I hope he does that again next tournament.
 
This Canadian team is years ahead of where they were expected to be, ultimately just making the tournament is a huge huge win for soccer in Canada. And at the end of the tournament every team save one will be on the outside looking in at the winner and I got news for you, the US team will be sitting beside us fairly shortly along with 31 other teams.

Would have been great to cause a surprise, but I'm really overall happy with things. Some of these players don't get such great opportunities to be seen on a global stage. I expect several of them to get offers because of this. There's already talk about Johnston going to Glasgow. Miller and Koné are getting looks from European clubs as well. All three were great for CF Montreal last year, so it's going to be too sad to see them go, but it'll be great for their development and the National team. Buchanan is also supposedly getting looks from top clubs and should move up from the Belgian league. And it's a matter of time before David moves up too. That's all positive for the team in 4 years.
 
Musiala is incredible, but I can't help but think he'd just be benched for Mason Mount if he had remained with England
