I liked Weah when he was on loan at Celtic. Looked a little lightweight though. Kinda sad he doesn’t play for Liberia.

I was just looking up the USMNT on wiki as well and saw that he was just born there while his mom was on vacation. Same thing with Musah who’s at Valencia. Idk, maybe it’s easier for them to have a career with a national team that’s not as good but I wouldn’t feel as connected to the team if that were me. Likewise with Matty Cash who’s now a Polish international

I suppose it’s more given who is dad is and what he means to Liberia as probably one of the first great African players and then later as a president. A bit like Andre and Jordan Ayew following their dad Abedi Pele in playing for Ghana rather than France. I think Matty Cash’s mother is Polish? As someone second generation who was brought up by a parent from a foreign country (even if it’s only Ireland) you do definitely have a different upbringing to your peers and feel a little other, I’d probably have wanted to play for Ireland rather than England if I wasn’t fat short slow and shit 😂
 
Frankly, Kylian, you could just not say who else you decided against. It's fine if it's just Real Madrid. We all know you'll join them in a few years anyhow.

 
On the USMNT front, Aaronson was rumored to be moving to Leeds before Marsch was there. Bielsa loved him, and the transfer was (supposedly) held up because Salzburg was still in the Champions League.

Musah may have been some birth tourism, but Weah not so much. He spent his formative years in Florida and NY and played for youth teams in the states before going to PSG. I’m guessing the fact that Liberia’s not going to a WC anytime soon made the decision really easy, but I think he actually identifies as a dual nat.
 
I know that a lot of Italian teams have nicknames like Giallorossi, Nerazzurri, Bianconeri, Rossoneri, but there's something about sports commentators using it interchangeably with their standard name that comes off a little pretentious.

He scored some great goals over here. Stuff only Zlatan could do. Also his oversized ego made for great entertainment. Especially during the LAFC games. Speaking of which…I’ll be there tonight!

I think a lot of it depends on the context and the commentator. If they specialise in Italian football - like the legend that is James Richardson or any of the old Channel 4 football Italia crew - or a player that played over there it kinda flies. I also kinda love how it pretty much literally translates to their kit colours.
