Play a live album.
The National - Juicy Sonic Magic
View attachment 83483

Outside of the Dave Matthews Band (which I’ve seen live over a dozen times) The National are probably the band I have seen the most live ( Twice at Pitchfork Music Festival in 2006 and 2009 respectively, once opening for Arcade Fire at the UIC Pavilion in 2011, and twice as headliners. In 2017 at The Paramount Theatre and in 2019 at Marymoore Park). I also have 3 of The National’s live albums and this a RSD release recorded live at The Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA September 24-25, 2018 using the “The Mike Millard Method" see the mini-doc below for a good descriptor of what that entails. While it’s recorded well, this is one of those instance that I wish I had a Tape Deck as part of my main set up as my little boom box her just can’t crank loud enough to achieve pure bliss.

Man that was a sweet video. Thanks for posting. Not a huge National fan but taping culture is so interesting to me.

Day 13 - sample

MIA - Kala

My most played song on Spotify most years is Paper Planes. It's pretty much our family theme song. It's obviously based on a brilliant Clash sample but there's so much else going on. Thanks to the quirks of Spotify the version we all fell in love with is the Afrikan Boy and Rye Rye remix so that's the one we play all the time - "I'm a legend, something like Jay-Jay Okocha". Rest of the album is ace too.
