January 2022 Vinyl Spin Challenge Thread :: Plant carrots in January and you'll never have to eat carrots.

Nice. I love Louie Bellson! He solos are very musical and creative. I have a few of his records...I'd say Louie Bellson Jam featuring Blue Mitchell is probably my favorite. Highly recommended.
How is this record?
here is the track listing to be honest on a weekday I have to be at work for 7.30 so I dig these out the night before if I get chance if not dig them out first thing in the morning spin them for 5 mins for the photos then play them when I get home from work, sometimes its added to by daily listen from spotify while at work, this one is not on there and have not played it for a long while, I have found your recommendation on there so will give that a listen as well

This ain't a top-tier pressing, but it does feature top-tier drumming. Danny Carey is legendary. His extra-extended solo/intro to "Reflection," while the rest of the band went backstage to refresh (rather than the "fake finish" before an encore) was THE top highlight when I saw Tool at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle back in '01 (on the second of a two-night stint co-headlining with King Crimson) - which says a lot given that the whole night was a life highlight, for sure!

Despite all praise to Carey's drumming, though, I definitely don't condone his recently reported use of homophobic slurs during an airport altercation. That shit was extremely disappointing.

Some great work by Stewart Copeland on here, particularly on Driven To Tears. The hi hats are crazy on that one.
