Lou is one of my favorite lyricist and this recent release; essentially a collection of work in process bare bones lo-fi recordings of songs that would later go on to become some of The VU’s biggest hits, does an incredible job of showing his talent as a songwriter.

Animal Collective "Time Skiffs" - I think I bought about 4 albums released in 2022, this is one of them and that would mean it's in my top 5....I actually really like this album I just haven't gone back to it too much but that goes to say about a lot of records in my collection...I guess that's why I'm here!

This one was actually at #6 on my 2022 year end mega list submission but lists are fluid and made up and today I feel like it was a top 5 album for me. Probably my biggest issue with this one was that I likely neglected it a bit since I purchased the box set so I could get the additional live show on wax as well. It just takes a slight bit more effort to open a box than regular record jacket and as such I didn’t spin it as much as probably would have otherwise.
