January Challenge - The Music Awakens…

January 13: Jedi vs. Sith – Play something that captures a battle of light and dark (or, perhaps, loud and soft)

Explosions in the Sky - all of a sudden i miss everyone

It's the one of theirs I spin the most, and quite frequently. Loud and soft dynamics are their specialty.

Two-Fer today. These two albums are sonically different, but contain many repeating motifs in lyrics and rhythms that intertwine them. The Silver Cord was probably on loop at the Jedi Temple, and Darth Maul totally gets down to Metal Gizz, since he has the same eyes as lizard on the cover.

January 14: Lightsaber Clash – Spin an intense, high-energy track.

My son was OBSESSED with Duel of the Fates from The Phantom Menace when he was little. It really is a great track and battle sequence. The Lightsaber Battles in the various animated projects up the ante from there, so I'm gonna up the BPM as well with Bombs Over Baghdad.

As an aside, having looked up the meaning of Stankonia:

"'Stankonia' is the name of a fictional land at "the center of the earth, seven light years below sea level", which is "the place from which all 'funky thangs' come", according to the album's opening lyrics. "

I mean if the Mandalorians stayed hidden underground, why couldn't the Stankonians? It sounds like a fantastic planet to exist in the Star Wars universe.

Outkast ~ Stankonia
