I put these guys in the same category as You Am I in that I don't understand how a band that writes such smart and immediately catchy songs never caught on stateside.
Not having many soundtracks I haven't played before, thus I go for Radiohead's brilliant "Ok Computer OKNOTOK" album, which has the great song "Exit music (for a film)" on it.
On my last challenge I kept this theme to only 1 day...I decided to have 2 days for Soundtracks this time around, as they are something that I collect and listen to regularly.
Here's my Discogs list - this isn't in any real order, just as I get them I add them.
I actually listen to soundtracks quite a bit these days, though I don't have many on vinyl (That Thing You Do!, where are you!?). This is one I got recently. One of my favourite bands did a short soundtrack to a sci-fi novel by Jeff Vandermeer in 2009. I've had it on CD forever, but they just repressed it late last year. Pretty fun listen that hearkens back to the band's early art-rock instrumental days.
Maybe I should have saved this one for the Daft Punk-honoring electronic day BUT I don't have many soundtracks on vinyl and I do have a buttload of electronic albums, so...
