MoFi UltraDeck / StudioDeck Owners and those interested

The designated ring seems appropriate. The MP-200 is about 6.7g, which puts it on the second ring. About 10 hours in and I’m loving how the this cart sounds.
Good give it some time and when you are ready try playing around with the ring setting to see if you hear a difference . In the end I did not , but you never know .

Enjoy

So, I just noticed that the back two legs of my Ultradeck seem to have lost suspension. Meaning no matter how I screw to adjust them...the weight of the table fully compresses the piston-like foot.

The front two seem fine. Anyone else run into this? Is there a secondary setting besides the height adjustment that I'm missing?

This is what the manual shows . Not sure what the two arrows mean so you may need to check the legs that work .

Are you turning the top of the leg near the base of the plinth or the bottom platform part of the leg that sticks out a bit

I'm turning the larger part closer to the body to adjust height...which works and isn't really what I'm saying. The piston is fully depressed on the back two. If I remove the foot all together, it pops back out and has SOME resistance. But, with the weight of the table it's fully depressed. While the two on the front are properly isolating via floating as intended by the design.

I DID notice because I spontaneously bubble level checked and the back was "down" from where it needed to be--despite sitting unmoved on the same place I installed it 6 months ago and properly leveled. I can an have releveled it, but the rear pistons remain fully depressed--meaning the isolation is gone or severely hindered.

Is there a way to adjust the resistance of the piston? That's what I was asking about a potential secondary adjustment...

Never had this problem however if no one has any suggestions I think you may be able to purchase replacement parts . Is the deck still under warranty , I would reach out to see what the dealer can do .

Update...I removed them--they all seem to have similar tensions to the pistons...they ARE however...two have thinner feet--the part of the piston that touches the shelf is thicker on two than the other two....I wonder if the set is 2x2...and two are supposed to go on the back position...where mine were/are 2 thicker ones on one side...two thinner ones on the other side....

Yes you can buy the set for of legs $200--because they sell some version of the StudioDeck without the legs. They will obvi be replaced under warranty if they've failed--but, in removing them--they seem fine...and now putting them back on--they're all "floating" again to varying degrees --on a very flat base.

Checked mine and the two thinner feet are at the front and thicker ones at the back . Came from the dealer like this as a demo so you may want others' to check theirs . Note talking about the part of the foot that touches the shelf .

Is this with the lid on and in the open position? Lid seems to be too heavy for the back feet when open - I have noticed the same thing (the back feet bottoming out). Remove the lid for listening. It's very easy to take on/off. Otherwise no issues with feet here.

Note my comments were with the lid off as I dont bother to use the lid as its a pain to put on and take off in my setup . I just use a small air blowing tool to remove any dust .

Well, I have been keeping it on...so, it was on when I noticed it. Removing it doesn't seem to change the behavior. I DID wonder if leaving it on but up while playing wasn't too much for the back legs. That would be, how you say, poor design....IMO....but, maybe....

I moved my two thicker footed ones to that back. It certainly doesn't make any sense to have two on the left and two different ones on the right to me--if the thickness denotes a difference at all. One is bottomed--even though holding it in my hands it has seemingly similar resistance to the rest. Other one, I can see a sliver of daylight. And this, should be said--from here on in this discussion the dustcover is completely removed. Both thin on the front (one was originally bottomed on the back) have plenty of play--working as designed.

I see if you go to BUY the legs...they have 3 different weight bearing classes. I don't see pix that LOOK different...but, I wonder if the thick/thinness of the feet denotes that. Maybe as a replacement I should make sure they send me two of the heaviest weight versions....so, I can keep my cover on.

Maybe you should reach out to MOFI or the dealer where you purchased it to see what they say.

Reach out to MoFi, I'd be surprised if they didn't just send you a new set of feet.

I've reached out to MOFI first. I bought it from Crutchfield. They've always been good to me, but it seem like this would be more a warranty repair/leg replacement at 6 months. If MOFI blows me off I'll ask Crutchfield.

FWIW--MOFI (a month ago?) referred be back to the dealer for the cartridge trade in...but, I had a dealer tell me they sold them but the trade ins are all handled through MOFI directly. So, I'm not sure the trade in program ACTUAL exists. Ha. :)

Let me see if I can cash in any favors, sit tight.
