MoFi UltraDeck / StudioDeck Owners and those interested

Just got an email from Upscale!

My UD/Grado is all set up, love that they send photographic references for you to feast on while it’s in transit. Unfortunately they finished setting up the deck after the last delivery pick up window so it won’t be in transit until Monday.

So close yet so far. Considering they’re 40 mins away I’m optimistic once in the mail it’ll arrive within 24 hrs.

Worth the wait - expert setup is luxury!
 
Does my stylus seem like it needs to be replaced? I've had the turntable for just under a month now, with maybe 50 hours played. When looking at photos of the Studiotracker and then comparing it to mine, doesn't look right

Should not need to be replaced after 50 hours unless it’s damaged or factory defective.

Looks like it *could* just be a little dirty? Do you have a cleaning method for it?
 
I have a Mofi stylus cleaner that I gently use after every other record. Other times I just blow (lol) at the stylus to prevent any contact. To my ears, all of my records sound perfect and I do not notice any added distortion. The only reason I noticed was because, believe it or not, a mosquito was stuck on the stylus itself when changing records. Tried blowing it off but it didn't want to bulge, and the mofi stylus cleaner was no help. I ended up using the brush to clean my velvet record cleaner to sweep it off. I'm worried I may have broken something.

-Just check to see the stylus is not bent. Sometimes a magnifying glass helps.

-You could try the magic eraser trick just to get any remaining residue off.


-Do you have a digital scale or Shure Tracking Force Guide to check your tracking force ?

I decided to rejoin the MoFi club... I got rid of my UD/UT for no other reason than boredom, and since the Technics are clearly never coming back to the US (relax everyone waiting.. they'll be released tomorrow since I've moved on.. you're welcome! lol) I started looking for alternatives and landed back at MoFi but with a twist.

MD had an open box PrecisionDeck for the same price as a regular UltraDeck with MT so I snatched it up along with a Super Heavyweight.. I personally love the Fender look, though I agreed with most and wouldn't have paid the full boat for the looks alone so the Open Box made sense.

Looking forward to seeing it in person, and to hearing the Master Tracker as I had the UltraTracker previously.

I'm done looking for equipment. Kids are off to college and I want to retire sooner rather than later, so my buying days are done for the foreseeable future. Time to settle in and listen.

Did anyone else here grab one of these?

Can’t wait to see a real picture of it in your setup! I’ve only seen stock photos thus far.

I know it’ll be a slightly different cart too, but I’m curious if the different plinth construction yields something different for you sonically than the UD.

I'm really looking forward to seeing it too.. I know its polarizing but I dig it... lol

It's been a while since I heard the UltraTracker so might be tough to try to make those comparisons.. but I'll report back for sure, with pics!
