That second picture is making me uncomfortable. She has arrived. Just unpacked and letting her warm up. Here’s a little sneak peak of the plinth construction. This thing is kinda nuts! View attachment 129105View attachment 129106
Sitting beside the PLX-1000, it's a pairing of the beauty and the brawn! She’s very understated don’t you think? Think my wife will notice? View attachment 129109
I’d never own that record, but it may be the perfect choice for that turntable. I have no clue whether anyone in the Eagles played a Fender, but the vibe of that table seems very consistent w/ my impression of Eagles music and scene. It’s a gorgeous table!First spin…. View attachment 129124
Isn’t it crazy? I always assumed it was the platter. This Ultradeck man.... what is it that makes the background so quiet? Is a side effect of great feet coupled with Delrin's resonance response?
I would always hear the run in groove on my Fluance, I'd hear the needle traversing the deadwax but this thing is JET BLACK until you hit the first track. I keep dropping the needle and glancing at my pre-amp to make sure it was turned on cause I hear no immediate feedback. So freaking cool! I'm at work rn fighting the urge to run back home and through on a record lmao
Adding @Slimwhit33 Platter, sapphire bearing, arm bearings, constrained layer damping, HRS feet. This Ultradeck man.... what is it that makes the background so quiet? Is a side effect of great feet coupled with Delrin's resonance response?

Its crazy enough that my wife has noticed it as well, last night she was like "I thought this was Tidal the whole time... I'm so used to hearing vinyl sounds"Isn’t it crazy? I always assumed it was the platter.
You got a nice setup going there, enjoyIts crazy enough that my wife has noticed it as well, last night she was like "I thought this was Tidal the whole time... I'm so used to hearing vinyl sounds"
I noted a similar difference just by changing the cartridge on my Traveler. I moved from an Ortofon 2M Blue to the Hana SL and the groove noise dropped substantially. This Ultradeck man.... what is it that makes the background so quiet? Any thoughts that the passive radiator on the back of the Forte might carry vibrations through the MoFi dust cover? That’s one thing that I’ve favored about the removable cover of the PLX.First spin…. View attachment 129124
At my typical listening levels, I’ve never noticed anything from the dustcover. The passive does not output as much as say a rear port does. It’s spread out over a larger area an just doesnt throw out enough energy to reach the cover. However, I typically listen with it off with other tables and will get to that soon. Having fun switching between the two tonight. Little shootout. Good stuff.Any thoughts that the passive radiator on the back of the Forte might carry vibrations through the MoFi dust cover? Darn sure is pretty, though!
I've always had a thing for Telecaster's so I wholeheartedly approve! That Sunburst is amazing. Will be curious of your thoughts on how this plinth compares with the standard sonically if at all. She’s very understated don’t you think? Think my wife will notice? View attachment 129109
