Movies

Just saw this came to HBO Max. I usually enjoy Wes Anderson fare, so I'll probs watch it soon.

West Side Story will be on D+ tomorrow, fyi. So I'll have access to stream WSS, King Richard, Dune, Power of the Dog, and Drive My Car out of the best picture nominees now. WSS and KR I'm going to save to watch with my gf, and maybe I'll watch Dune tonight.
I know what I'm doing this weekend now that there are no parades.

The Batman reviews are good and liken it more to a dark hardboiled noir like Zodiac or Seven than your average superhero film, guess I'll be seeing my first one in a very long time.
One of the negative reviews said it was darkly shot, as in the lighting. And now I'm getting PTSD flashbacks to The Long Night GoT episode where you couldn't decipher much of anything during the battle. I just hope there are some lighter scenes to contrast the constant doom and gloom vibe. And I don't mean lighter comedic Marvel style scenes but just like, the lighting light.

Having just sat through the dark amorphous blob that is Aliens vs Predator: Requiem, I wonder if The Batman's lighting (or alleged lack thereof) can truly compete with that.
