I had the same reaction. Very watchable, but almost felt like a couple episodes of a show more than a movie.Kimi was alright! I understand it was supposed to be minimal but I wish that it delved into the backstory some more. It felt like it was weaving a pretty interesting background story without talking about it at all.
Nope! They're both different adaptations of thr book.Do I need to have seen the original Dune to watch the new one?
Good to know as I want to get through all the best picture noms that I have access to. So far have only seen Licorice Pizza and Don't Look Up!Nope! They're both different adaptations of thr book.
Do I need to have seen the original Dune to watch the new one?
Very different feels. The new one is visually stunning, but keep in mind it's half a film. I love the Lynch one cause I grew up with it, but a lot of people don't like it. The SciFi channel one is actually great and very much worth watching as is the sequel they did. And if you haven't read the book then I can't recommend it enough. It has a lot of dimensions to it that really speaks to the last 50 years of sociopolitical problems on Earth.Nope! They're both different adaptations of thr book.
Seems appropriate given current world affairs.
Watched this really good obscure little movie last night called No Country for Old Men, y'all have probably never heard of it.
Yes.Is that the one about the old man that wants to listen to country music, but all the cool young country fans keep being like "Go away, old man!"?
I prefer the original tbh, I though the new one was good, but releasing in parts is a head scratcher other than money grab. I recommend picking up the 84' dvd directors cut.Do I need to have seen the original Dune to watch the new one?

I know weāre supposed to let people make their own choices and stuff but the thought of people going through life watching dozens, if not hundreds, of movies, but somehow never seeing the Battle of Helmās Deep (which is like the last half hour or so of The Two Towers) makes me feel nauseous and dizzy. Like I know people are allowed to have different opinions, but I donāt understand how anyone could watch that part of that movie and not just be overwhelmed with how intense and amazing and wonderfully cathartic it is. But I guess maybe by now, the awesomeness of it has been replicated enough in other films that someone watching it for the first time in 2022 might not be blown away - I just have a hard time accepting that in my soul.I didn't dislike the movie. I just thought it was too long but I do want to know what happens. I might try the theatrical.
Is that in the extended version?I know weāre supposed to let people make their own choices and stuff but the thought of people going through life watching dozens, if not hundreds, of movies, but somehow never seeing the Battle of Helmās Deep (which is like the last half hour or so of The Two Towers) makes me feel nauseous and dizzy. This is my way of asking you to please watch it, haha.
