Hula Hoops!Hudsucker Proxy is an underrated one from their filmography. Maybe too many people thought it was, you know, for kids.

Hell yeah, finally the Attila movie we've all been waiting for.
the CornsWhat’s amazing about the Corn’s is that they came out of the gate with Blood Simple, which is a hell of a debut.
-imately too long. The Batman is legit
It doesn’t really lose its steam. Andy Serkis is a bit underserved and the movie has seven endings. But it nails the tone and really calls bullshit on the Wayne mythos.-imately too long.
I think there is perhaps the best single Batman movie somewhere underneath what we got. But it was just too overstuffed.
This is how we felt. We went to an early showing on Saturday and when we left we didn't realise how long it had been and were shocked that it was as long as it was. Taking this as a good sign because we didn't feel like it had been a long experience. It doesn’t really lose its steam. Andy Serkis is a bit underserved and the movie has seven endings. What did they remove?I just discovered that the Criterion release of Miller's Crossing has some Coen-made nips and tucks and has removed one of my favorite moments in the film.
WHY
Apparently between a minute and a half and two minutes of footage overall, but the specific moment is after Tom hits Frankie with a chair, Frankie holds his face and says 'Jesus, Tom' and then wanders off for help. This has been edited so he just stands dazed for a moment and then leaves the room. What did they remove?
You know, I'm not against the idea of directors going back and re-editing their older work in general, but for something like Criterion, would it really hurt to include the original version of the film as well? Ugh. Well I already bought the thing during their last sale so hopefully the changes just don't bother me that much.I just discovered that the Criterion release of Miller's Crossing has some Coen-made nips and tucks and has removed one of my favorite moments in the film.

I mean, I think Miller's Crossing is kind of a perfect film, so this edit in particular is baffling to me. Yeah... significantly less excited to get my copy in the mail now. I mean, I guess if the Coens felt like it had to be done, I wouldn't want to be Criterion trying to tell them what to do, but the fact they never mentioned this was a different cut is pretty dirty of them. Especially when it wouldn't be a problem at all if they just included the original version as well, but I have to imagine the Coens nixed that too? So much for this being the "definitive version" I suppose.I mean, I think Miller's Crossing is kind of a perfect film, so this edit in particular is baffling to me. It's a great moment!
It also seems like they're using the same master of the film as the original Fox Blu-ray I've got, just at a higher bitrate, so I guess I'm going to revert to my earlier copy. Real bummer, that.
