Does anyone know if Rotten Tomatoes gets paid to withhold reviews until after release?

Not a thing. Sometimes reviews don't come out until day of. Not sure what the hold up on these two is, though. Thought today would be the day for the critic review embargo to be up. User reviews I do think they vet tho.

We watched it too! The flow really felt true to the playful decision-oriented nature of what I know about the game.

(Also been watching Dimension 20's new Dungeons and Drag Queens season, and it's HYSTERICAL.)

Watched D&D on the flight home from the UK. It’s a great movie to watch in that context, and I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.

I liked how it wasn’t lore heavy - I didn’t feel like I was missing out on stuff by not being invested in the D&D world. Most other franchises feel like homework rather than entertainment at the moment for me, so it was refreshing to see a film that remembered that being fun was the most important thing.

Planning to see Oppenheimer next week; thinking of seeing what the closest IMAX theater to me is.

Also will more than likely be taking my mom to see Barbie this weekend. Looks fun.

I never liked Toy Story 3 all that much. I don't know why. I'd personally put it behind the first two, but otherwise I'd agree with your ranking so far.

I think I'm planning to do Barbie tomorrow when I get to Chicago and Oppenheimer after I get back home.

I also found a theater nearish to where I am staying that has 9 am showings of Past Lives throughout the weekend, so if I retain enough energy to peel myself out of bed to go to that pre-fest one morning, I will.

Forgot about the 70mm aspect of Oppenheimer, and holy shit there's a theater right near my hostel in Chi. Locking down that ticket tonight.

That's what I noticed when I checked AMC River East's 70mm screenings. I think the Music Box Theatre, which is a much smaller indie theater, has 70mm screening tickets available for tomorrow afternoon and evening, but its not reserved seating, so you'd prob want to show up early to get a good seat.

Sounds great but it's MUCH further away from where I'm staying. Hmm gonna mull on this for a bit

Talk To Me tonight. Planned to see Barbie tomorrow, but we're gonna do it Saturday. So Oppenheimer will be Friday afternoon in IMAX. There are no ways to see it in 70mm here.
