The 2nd half is definitely more oblique than the first half leads you to believe. You think it's going to be some American Dream story, but it's a more obfuscated look at how trauma and violence inform art and culture. The ending is definitely tongue and cheek. Don't think a lot of it is meant to be taken literally.Saw The Brutalist. Loved the first part. The 2nd part…uh WTF? It felt a bit like two different movies. Adrian Brody and Guy Pearce winning Oscars is fine by me.
Anora is next on the list.

I really wish they made this a series. There's so much source material it feels like a rip off we only got one movie out of it. Russel Crowe and Paul Bettany were delightful together.I just read that it’s possible Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World might be getting a UHD release this year. I will shed tears
Timmy was fantastic but Monica Barbaro blew me awayWas able to catch A Complete Unknown at the Alamo this week thanks to the Oscar nom. Doesn't really bring anything new to the table as far as biopics go, but I thought it was an absolute pleasure to watch, and the musical performances are genuinely electric (no pun intended).
