Movies

This is my feeling on Titanic at this point, I’ve never seen it and at this point I am probably good. Like ET and Top Gun, Titanic has been a pop culture touch stone over the past few decades in such a way that I could probably give a detailed plot synopsis of the film without ever seeing any of it.
You are okay not seeing Titanic.
It's way too long and way too little payoff for that time invested.

I only watched it for the first time last year and thought it rocked and rolled

Very confused. Who is Jacques throwing shade at? Isn't I'm Still Here in portuguese, not spanish? Or is his comment unrelated to their movie.
The two are unrelated. Audiard is responding to criticism that he didn't research Mexico and that his movie is full of bad Spanish by saying it's a language for poor people anyway. Gascon is defelecting genuine criticism of the film she's in on another international film (meritlessly).

I saw Titanic in 1997 when it came out at the Northpark I & II here in Dallas. It was an old school General Cinema theater that had 70mm projectors and a THX sound system that was supposedly installed with George Lucas overseeing it. It was one of the original 10 movie theaters to show Star Wars on its opening day. That Titanic viewing was one of the top 10 movie experiences of my life. You felt every second of that movie when the iceberg hit. Sadly the theater didn't make it much longer and was closed by General Cinema in 98. After that and was torn down to expand the mall in 2001.
