Definitely an alarmist headline going around. I am curious how long a VHS tape is usable (google says they degrade 10-20% in 10-25 years, thanks google?), but nothing lasts forever. There's a point to be made about studios preserving prints/negatives and the continuation of physical media distribution, but from a technological level this is kinda pro-streaming; the problem is rights maintenance and proper stewardship thereof, as well as preservation and distribution.

I've been slightly pivoting towards physical media, trying to buy a disc if I know I'm going to watch something at least twice and it's not the specific moment I want to watch the thing (say, am I making this up, or did Amazon previously discount the rental cost of a movie if you decided to purchase it?).

Which brings me to Anora, a movie I want to watch again but am not 100% sure I'd throw on any old day (my wife's progressive and pretty feminist, but (or and?) she may wonder why I'm so into the sex worker movie). Still on the fence there.
 
Ordered Bound 4K from Wal Mart the other day for ~$17, it arrived today. I'm exchanging it regardless because the case is damaged, but it didn't have the grey sticker on the outer wrapping and it wasn't that like folded flap cellophane but heat shrunk plastic outer--what are the odds this is a re-seal and the movie inside is not Bound?

Was Walmart the seller or was it 3rd party? Walmart is basically like Amazon in that regard.

Current 4K on their site is being sold from a 3rd party
