So I’m going to out myself as Santa, I’m sure it’d have been figured eventually given the album!

It was my favourite of 2023 and a great contemporary take on Irish music.

There is a second one that was dispatched today and I hope makes it to you for Christmas!

Can't wait! Thanks again, excited to dive into it and if it's a recommendation from you I'm sure it will be good. 🫂🤘

Thank you Santa!

No clue as to who you are. They were sent directly from Plaid Room Records. I've never heard of either before. Spinning Amigo The Devil right now and it's fantastic, I am enjoying it very much. The other one is Dave, looking forward to spinning this!

Cheers!

Given the postal strike happening up here, a more personalized box wasn't an option. I took your words to heart and sent a couple of my favourites that I hoped would be new musical discoveries for you, so I'm stoked you haven't heard of either! That Amigo the Devil record is
my Album of the Year for 2024
and the Dave album is my favourite British hip hop album by anybody not named Little Simz or Roots Manuva. Both albums have a dynamic range from bangers and stompers to absolute heartbreakers and have proven very rewarding through repeated listens; both are albums that I usually wind up listening to a couple/few times whenever I stream or spin them; and both albums seemed like they would find a good home within the scope of your collection.

Speaking of your collection, I'm INCREDIBLY curious to know how it came about that you have a Scott Dunbar record in it.

Here's to musical discoveries, and I hope you continue to enjoy these.

Happy Holidays to you and yours! 💜

PS - If you dig the Dave album, his performance at the 2022 Brit Awards is worth a watch.

Awesome! You were one of my suspects after searching the forum with Amigo The Devil. :)

Thanks again! I do love new music discovery. The Scott Dunbar was part of a pretty cool record club that unfortunately couldn't keep it going. Feedbands was the record label. The "system" was bands uploaded their music so members like me can listen and vote for our favorite songs. If enough votes were cast, the "algorithm" chose a record to be recorded and pressed to vinyl. I put those in quotes because often the results didn't line up with the votes. Be that as it may, it was a neat system to get new music to vinyl. Each album got around 1000 or so records pressed, so it was kind of limited, too. I have about 30 or so of the 60 or so records from Feedbands. I am sure there are a few other former members hanging out here at N&G.

I should revisit those albums, there are some pretty good ones in there!

That's wild, re: Scott Dunbar. He's a friend of mine and I had no idea that album ever got pressed to vinyl (I've got it on CD in storage), but wouldn't have had any interest around the time it happened, anyway, as I was still pretty itinerant at the time. I haven't seen him since shortly after my eldest was born, so it was a bit of a jolt to see him come up in your collection!

I’ve gotten rid of most of my Feedbands records over the years but still have Tank’s debut, Native Howl and Sunsquabi.

Santa gift, part 2...

@Rip_City !!

This shirt is fucking awesome man! This is literally exactly the type of stuff that I wear. Such a cool design. Thank you so incredibly much!

I may have asked this question at some point on here before (because it's not the first time I've asked this question to myself) about this awesome shirt, but the wife and I are debating if this intentionally looks like a certain popular photo on the internet some years ago, or if that's purely coincidental.

It's fantastic either way, but also hilarious one of those ways.

Goatse?

When Gotye was really popular for a minute I couldn't escape the mental picture every time I saw the name...

Hahaha, I didn't notice that until now and now I can't unsee it.
