I think we still need to figure out how the ROTM pickers will be selected. As someone said before it shouldn’t be just the super users. If the person just chooses the next person it will be more of just a club within the club. Have a random drawing? Have a five-person committee pick five records and they vote on the winner?
I'll get around to putting my name forward for this eventually providing at least 20 people promise to point out they can get it cheaper in their local's dollar bins than any of the recommended retail links I post with it
I agree that we need to find a way of choosing pickers that is satisfying and also we already have candidates for more than 2 years of curation ! I can volunteer to do a random drawing if that the most satisfying way of doing it.
I also agree that we need to have someone different running the guessing thread and updating the guesses, so I would suggest this process :
1. One week before the end of the month, I do a random drawing among the remaining volunteers
2. Someone volunteer to run the guess thread once someone is known for the pick of the month
3. The person responsible for the pick creates the thread so they can edit the thread name and first post with info related to the pick once it's revealed
4. The guess thread runner then takes the followings post for thread updates
Will there be swaptions?

One thing I was thinking about while reading through this was, would it make sense to have someone “outside” of this process kind of managing the order of the picks?
Or maybe its just as simple as making sure that the genre changes from month to month, so people don’t feel pressured to buy 3 metal records in a row (if that’s not their thing).
Maybe there should be a way to insert a person into a specific month if they have a pick that coincides with a reissue? That would be cool.
AgreeI would rather the next couple of people be listed before than shuffling people around

Thanks for all the thought you put into that carefully worded response.
