The past two weeks...

🔥
  • Beyoncé - RENAISSANCE [holy shit got damn my wig fuck it's gone why you do dis queen]
  • Chat Pile - God's Country [yeah yeah I know, both were BNM from a certain source. Fully deserving, however. Now that I no longer listen to Daughters, I have found a more than amicable replacement]
👍
  • DOMi & JD BECK - NOT TiGHT [thanks, @zomgbear]
  • Hinako Omori - a journey with friends... (EP) [a soothing experience as expected, but I find myself wanting to listen to the originals. Still good!]
  • The Koreatown Oddity - ISTHISFORREAL?
  • Naked Flames - Miracle in Transit [house/techno that calls back to the sounds of aughts; enjoyable. Doesn't quite reach the highs I thought it would. Still waiting for that excellent electronic record this year...]
  • Wormrot - Hiss
  • Zenizen - P.O.C. (Proof of Concept) [wow, the genre potpourri here is enticing!]
🤷‍♂️
  • Beach Bunny - Emotional Creature [2020's full-length and last year's EP offerings are much more interesting]
  • Amanda Shires - Take it Like a Man
  • Jack White - Entering Heaven Alive
👎
  • quinn - quinn
  • Rico Nasty - Las Ruinas (mixtape)
🤮
  • Hayley Kiyoko - PANORAMA [each song more forgettable than the last, lackluster production, uninspiring vocal performances. Almost no redeeming factors]

I really dig that Zenizen. I am going to keep following her. And holy cow, Bae’s new album is sooooooooooo good. I can’t wait to get the physical. I have been dancing to it since it came out.

I just listened to the Amanda Shires and I would put it in the 👍🏻 category. I guess I need to listen to that Chat Pile album.

A friend recommended this album to me this week and it was the first completely new to me artist of the year that blew me away. Fantastic album for fans of Thundercat, Anderson .Paak, and the like. They're both fantastic musicians.

I just listened to this at work earlier today because of the mentions here. Definitely grateful to y'all for talking it up. It's quite good.

Also blown away by the Caterina Barbieri which I also checked out today thanks to here!

It’s such a fabulously fun album. I grabbed a physical copy from their site. I especially love the rodent playing a little saxophone.

Thundercat, Anderson Paak, and Mac DeMarco are all in their current video.

Fun fact: I believe these two have shared some level of mentorship from the one and only Herbie Hancock. I saw him perform live about this time last year and he brought the two of them out to close out the show and play Chameleon with him. Believe he referred to them as proteges

I'm sure there will be some backlash, but I LOVE the title of that Doechii album.
