New Ladytron? Neat!

I'm jealous and really interested to hear what you think of it as a whole.
This is an intensely personal album. Quieter than the last. It’s very good, melodic, quiet music with an emphasis on what she’s saying. I think I may have trouble listening to it again because of the song Breathing Song which brought me to tears. I listened to the rest of the album after that but I am not sure how much I heard. It’s a good song, just about very traumatic things.

I've been slow to trying new music this year. A few things have been interesting, but I'm not overly impressed so far...perhaps I'm trying the wrong albums. It'll be even slower with me doing my best to stay up to date on the 1001 album challenge.
Everything I've tried since the beginning of the year:

🔥

Not even close.

👍
  • Ahab - The Coral Tombs [clean vocals are the worst part about this, but everything else is enjoyable]
  • Cicada - Seeking the Sources of Streams [beautiful, like a Miyazaki score. Thanks, @nolalady]
  • Iggy Pop - EVERY LOSER [came away with a good impression overall. "Frenzy" has some juice]
  • Rozi Plain - Prize [first art pop!]
🤷‍♂️
  • CHANCE デラソウル - Stay Shining [he's been hard at work with multiple albums each year since 2020, but he's been running short of interesting ideas for at least the past three albums now. Many songs reuse the same samples/melodies. Doesn't mean it's a complete wash, but...]
  • Nicole Dollanganger - Married in Mount Airy [perhaps this music works better in a live setting? Would totally snag a ticket to see her to hear this album's vibe in a live space. However, it's not connecting with me after three tries]
  • The Howling Void - Into Darkness Ever More Profound [doom snoozefest]
  • Mansion - Second Death [forgettable doom/post-metal hybrid]
  • MOLLY - Picturesque [post-rock/dream pop that is bang average. Again like the two mentioned above, it is quite forgettable]
  • J. Wiegold - Norfolk Serpent [forgettable, tired of saying this over and over lol]
👎
  • Moby - Ambient 23 [I know I like ambient/new age/minimal music, but holy shit this was absolutely unnecessary]
🤮

None yet, thankfully.

Thanks and I appreciate the heads up. I think Breathing Song is the one she described as "the least enjoyable song of all time." I haven't heard it yet but I think it's one of the new singles tomorrow along with Honey.

Yup! The press release talks about him making an instrumental album while traveling alone and each song is named after where it was located. I don’t know if I smoke enough weed anymore to really enjoy a Mac DeMarco instrumental album.
thanks @TenderLovingKiller®
I hadn't kept to date with the press releases around this album.
Was excited for some witty pop, and got hypnotized by what I heard.
I mean, it's not bad, but it's very slow going and repetitive, and it lacks the fun of his lyrics.
