The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble - Step Down

On the surface, an album of only instrumentals could be seen as an album about nothing, though judging by the dedication on the back (which I forgot about until I started posting), there seems to be something more beneath that surface…

Never watched a single episode of Yo! MTV Raps in my life and yet I still own this! I'm guessing they wouldn't be above a little self promotion on the show!?

While working at a record store, there were constant back and forth recommendations amongst the employees. I was digging the whole early 2000s NYC scene at the time, so this was suggested to me

9:00 PM ㉖ MTV Beavis & Butthead (R)

Play an artist mocked by these two Fart Knockers.

INXS "Kick" (1987 Atlantic; 2018 Rhino 2x45 reissue)
Beavis & Butthead are morons. This music is amazing but they would have been my guest to criticize the terrible album cover with the gratuitous flying skateboard. Just my opinion, but the best album cover option would have been: just use the typography and stars on the white background. Still, Beavis & Butthead are bungholes.

The Cramps are featured on this fantastic early 80's live comp / movie. Taking @Yer Ol' Uncle D 's lead and including Fall Brewery's Goo Goo Muck Hazy IPA that I'll crack open later tonight.

They were also on Beavis & Butthead, but with a video about Bikini Girls with Machine Guns, it was certainly not mocked but rather spoke to their warped adolescent minds...

Damn, scooped. I spent my lunch hour perusing (too many) B&B vids looking for artists that they poke fun at and that I have in my collection.

I hear ya man. It took me forever to find anything I had in my collection. I don't have much metal and I certainly don't have the bad fringe metal they dissed in my collection. I was about to do some massive hand waving and spin AC/DC since it's on their shirt but then came-up on the Devil Inside video.
