Bonus points for The Beach Boys since they had a very friendly relationship with Full House (John Stamos played percussion for the band occasionally), the band guest stared in two separate episode and lent the Dennis Wilson, Classic “Forever” for Uncle Jesse to cover in one of the hokiest music videos of all time.Friday November 4, 1989
7:00 PM ❼ ABC TGIF Full House - EVERYBODY to the stage!!
Quicksilver Messenger Service - Happy Trails
The lineup has changed multiple times, even during their heyday. Musicians poached by other bands (cough cough Skip Spence), drug busts and jail time. "They" have continued on in some capacity, changing lineups as they go. Oh yeah, and San Francisco boys!

The Beach Boys - 20/20
You could make an argument that others took over prior to this album, but I think this is a good one. Carl and Dennis had more say than ever on this album, and Brian basically wasn't present for the sessions after admitting himself. The Brian songs are from prior sessions and finished by Carl & the boys. Hell, Brian isn't even on the cover!

Chicago - IX: Chicago’s Greatest Hits

Chicago was not only a huge band and took their name from The Winslow’s hometown but they are band that started out as a three headed beast with Terry Kath, Robert Lamm, and Peter Cetera all singing lead as time progressed the schlocky balladeering of Cetera took hold and took this once respectable Rock Band to some very schmaltzy places. Thankfully this album came out prior to all that and is essentially the only Chicago record anyone would ever need.
Also, I just wanted throw out here since it’s TGIF Friday that a lot of these shows took place in what I like to call “The Urkel-verse”. See, Family Matters was a spin off of Perfect Strangers, Harriette Winslow was the elevator operator in the building that Balky and Cousin Larry worked in. Later, once Urkel became a surprising breakout star, they shoehorned him into both Step By Step and Full House episodes. The Step By Step guest spot was especially notable because Steve randomly broke out “The Urkel” a fantastically cheesy dance to go along with a novelty song of the same name.
Probably hoping they would strike gold the same way The Simpsons did with “Do The Bartman” ABC really tried their best to make “The Urkel” catch on as he performed the dance on his own show as well.
Have you seen the Terry Kath doc on YouTube? It's a great watch...
Also, I'm at work and getting scooped on today's selections left and right!
If you press play exactly when Eddie Winslow first appears during the Family Matters theme I hear it syncs up perfectly.21 Family Matters Cast TGIF Promo CMs - 1989 to 1993
Like Steve Urkel, Play an album by an band where the lead was taken over by a secondary character/band member
I know someone already played Floyd for this, but since I was spinning it anyway I figured I'd post. This is a copy I purchased from @Crabbers and hadn't spun it yet. Sounds so good, I haven't listened to DSOTM in its entirety in a long time.
