Live From New York...

Some ā€œSong Memoriesā€

If anybody comes across some great music related sketches while looking up SNL performances I invite you to post the video (or link to the video) here.

I have a few sketches queued up and will be posting em throughout the day. Lots of Paul Rudd.

This very Preggers Amy Poehler sketch is one of my faves but itā€™s a tough find on the internet currently unfortunately....

Thankfully I was able to scrounge up a copy and download it.

Enjoy!

This show was recorded less than a month after The ā€˜Mats disastrous SNL performance January 18, 1986. The band got so fucked up between the rehearsal and the live show that they could barely stand up let alone preform live. The performance was so terrible (off key and missed verses) they were effectively banned from SNL going forward (Though Westerberg was invited back in the 90ā€™s).

This reminds me on one of my favorite SNL music related sketches. It was another tough one to find online this recording quality isnā€™t the best but it still makes me Laugh Out Loud!

Beck - Guero

Most SNL performances aren't super memorable, but Beck made things interesting with this version of "Clap Hands" (from Guerolito, which I don't have in vinyl, but this album is close enough!) on acoustic guitar, with some silverware and puppets as accompaniment.

I found the video of it on some website that may have given all my information to Vladimir Putin and now I owe him my firstborn or something, I don't know, so be careful...
