Beck - Guero

Most SNL performances aren't super memorable, but Beck made things interesting with this version of "Clap Hands" (from Guerolito, which I don't have in vinyl, but this album is close enough!) on acoustic guitar, with some silverware and puppets as accompaniment.

I found the video of it on some website that may have given all my information to Vladimir Putin and now I owe him my firstborn or something, I don't know, so be careful...

That was dope AF. I was looking over lists of performers and Beck has to be up there for the most musical appearances on SNL all time.

DAY 7
MEDIA MAIL
Girl Talk - All Day
Finally had a delivery, decided to give this a spin. As a child of the 2000s and early 2010s with a short attention span and an affinity for mash ups, this record appeals directly to my interests 😀

I listened to this album on yesterday's run. In fact, it's so connected in my mind with running, that I don't know if I'd ever get it on vinyl.

It was definitely a nostalgia buy for me. I listened to the album a ton on bus rides when I was younger and when I saw it was actually being pressed, I had to. It's probably more of a novelty than anything but it's still a fun thing to have!

Phoenix is one of the rare bands that played three songs in a single SNL episode. Here they are ending the show with Too Young from United:

And here’s a great interview with the band about their performance.
