It’s cool… he didn’t realize he just bought back a bunch of Almost Famous and Tumbleweed Connection.

I can’t make sense of their used pricing. Plenty reasonable and others oddly high.
Used record store pricing has as much or more to do with what sells well in their area. They might use Discogs for stuff they are unfamiliar with but a decent buyer is gonna know what he can get for a record.

I’m more likely to spend a few more bucks on a record I can inspect or even play before buying.

If my eBay and Discogs seller listings are an indication, the market has definitely softened for used sales. But Plaidroom wants $80 for a VG copy of Woody Shaw’s “Love Dance” (on my want list), which arguably seems like it makes sense based on Discogs, but I can’t fathom anyone spending that $ on a VG copy of that record. The last VG sold was $50 last September.
This is the other part of the equation. I order a VG from a shop I expect it to be VG, I order a VG from cogs, I’m expecting a G.

Plaid grades conservatively. Their VG is likely another person's VG+.

I grade all my NM records as VG+ on Discogs because I dont want to deal with picky buyers that'll moan about some inaudible hairline. I probably lose sales, but dont really sell much anyways and dont really want the hassle.
