Yeah, I am aware of that (not of you eating dog but how things differ culturally regarding pets).

I wonder if that where these peoples minds go, “these godless savages are eating pets!!”. Like a 1940s Looney Tunes cartoon.

I've eaten that too. That's good eatin'. But the dog was very funky. You see some of the very mange covered mutts there and there's no way they could taste good.

I felt much more guilty after finding out I'd eaten Capybara than I did dog. It might be a rodent but they're such sweet creatures. Street mutts in the Amazon are generally not the kind of animal you go aww at.
 
It looks like we don't have to worry about the SAVE ACT or it being Biden's fault that we going into default / the government shuts down if he vetos the budget.

Latest signs show the GOP does not have enough support to pass the budget bill in the house. They are too divided. Even with the SAVE ACT as part of the budget, the far right has more demands while a couple of more moderate members won't support the bill as it goes too far. Not to mention it would be DOA in the senate.

Just shows the republican party is still very much disfunctional. But I bet they will still blame the Dems as zero of them will vote for the budget, therefor it's their fault the government shuts down.

This always crack me up. Why do we always assume these migrants are "godless"? I'm willing to bet they are much more godly than your average American and go to church much more regularly.

They will be much happier being a minority party that hinders progress without the onus of actually running the government. The modern GOP is basically just a shitposting party.
 
I just traded emails with a sales contact at a vendor I use, she lives in Springfield Ohio. She said yes there are a lot of Haitians there, and no she isn't missing a pet. She doesn't find it all that laughable though, because plenty of out of town relatives are seriously concerned and reaching out asking if she and her dogs are all ok.
