The rest of the article is mostly people scared of a Trump government or the rightward encroachment on foreign policy or social issues but this guy made me laugh. I guess if you are on vacation Socialism isn’t so bad.

Indeed, the media has fact-checked Harris’s assertion that Trump’s tariffs would constitute a sales tax on the middle class. They have clarified that tariffs do not operate in that manner and that there will be no sales tax.

It is important to note that Harris is not explicitly stating that tariffs are a literal sales tax. Instead, she is suggesting that they could be interpreted as a mechanism for increasing the cost of imported goods, which could ultimately be passed on to consumers.

The stuff posted on instagram is often very cleverly edited. The most outrageous stuff doesn’t need editing though.
 
I also think all of everyone’s fact checking is not prominent enough. You shouldn’t have to search for it, it should be choice from the drop down menu and clearly displayed on the politics or election pages.

It would also be very helpful to have a tally and clearer notations.

For example, if you go to CNN’s fact checking on the debate it’s like 33 to 4. With the 33 Trump mostly being false and the 4 for Harris being it needs context (or the one false being yes Trump did have the worst unemployment since the Great Depression but it was improving in January 2021🙄).

When you read the article @Twentytwo linked, it’s all these are things they said but they’re taken out of context. Which causes Trump to say things like the Charlottesville thing has been debunked (not really, you have to make some leaps to say good people were at the nazi/kkk rally.).

But Trump spreads false rumors about migrants eating dogs and actually causes a community harm when it has actually been debunked (no pets have gone missing in Springfield, no one knows who the guy who had some geese was, and the lady that did eat a cat was in a city 2&1/2 hours away and a citizen of the town she was in.)

I was wearing my National tee based on their song "New Order T-shirt" yesterday (looks like the cover of Substance with that beautiful Bodoni typeface) when we were getting ready to leave Baltimore after the Pearl Jam show. Some woman wearing a Stones tee stopped me on the way back from breakfast and said "Yeah, New Order! I remember them!" I started to explain that it's not a New Order "the band" t-shirt, but it's actually The National and gave up halfway through, and added, yeah, I love New Order and walked away.

That has happened to me multiple times. Very few people that I've engaged with about music have any clue who The National is. And I'm like, yeah, they're one of my fave bands and I've seen them 50+ times and you should totally listen to them... then I just stop myself.

It really does surprise me that more people don't know The National. They definitely got a huge bump in public awareness when Orgy covered their song, but I guess that was over 20 years ago.

I think you have to assume a large percentage of people aren’t clicking your article to read it which means this headline makes it seem like there is a problem with noncitizen voting.

Not to mention the other problems with this whole thing anyhow. I mean “every” and “all” doesn’t need to be changed to “only.”. You fucking assholes. Just putting it on the ballot reinforces that it’s a problem.
 
It is all a ploy to get people to doubt the validity of elections if the Republicans lose. If they lose, it was because of voting irregularities or "illegals voting". That's why Kamala has to win in a fairly dominant fashion in the swing states to overcome the fuckery that will happen with poll watchers, people challenging voting counts, and people being removed from voting rosters. I highly encourage everyone who plans on voting to make sure your voter registration is valid on your state's website. I also bet we'll see bomb threats called into large polling places since that's working in Springville, Ohio right now with schools, hospitals, and city hall.
 



Guy goes on for twenty minutes, can’t accept culpability for his rumor causing harm to the community and refuses to apologize to the dad that said keep his son’s name out of his mouth. States that he created a story so the media would talk about the issue. Refused to provide names and proof. Says the debunking is fake. Says folks who are there don’t know what’s going on but hasn’t been there himself. Wants to talk about policy instead of all these distractions he created but doesn’t ever actually say what policies they will put in place to deal with the issue. Continues to call the Haitians in the town illegal even after admitting that they are there legally. Wants to help the town but has only done harm thus far.

What a dick.

Did you see that some trumper mother sold her daughter's tickets to one of her Toronto shows because Taylor had the audacity to endorse Kamala? No doubt she was engagement farming for her tik tok acct, but still, WTAF?

Sadly, since I posted that earlier this morning, the likes on the post have more than tripled.

Well, you can't go against their God King. They live in a different reality from the rest of us. The only person that idiot mother is hurting is her 13 year old who will forever be embarrassed that her mother pulled a stunt based on someone's politics. Or there's really no daughter at all and it's just like the lady who burned Taylor's records. Taylor already got your money there genius.

The justices can be impeached right? Like it’s of course very unlikely but Congress could introduce articles, find Roberts Guilty and then remove him from the court?
